Making your bed - a little challenge

Making your bed - a little challenge

Hi guys 🙂

I came across an article about 5 reasons for making your bed every day. I've been tackling The Challenge since I first posted this on BB in Feb 2015. I've been asked to start it on here, so feel free to have a go 😉

Anyone else up to the challenge??? Here is the (edited) article ::

If you can't do the little things right, you'll never do the big things right.

1. Making your bed is a small task, but once completed, the sense of accomplishment helps you get more little things done during the day.

2. Creates an oasis to relax in when you come home. It's the one area you have control over. Pack away clothing, fluff the pillows....

3. Sets a good example for children. Easier to get them to tidy their rooms if yours is tidy.

4. Once established as a good habit, it may encourage you to start other good habits. Packing clothes away, opening curtains. This may lead you to other little tasks in other areas of the house.

5. Keeping it clean. Messy bedding can make a bedroom look untidy and unclean. With a made up bed, your bedroom will be more inviting at the end of the day.

So are you ready for your life-changing experience? When you think that making your bed takes approximately 3 minutes, it's at least worth giving it a go. Try it for a week and see if you feel like you're achieving something every morning, and whether it leads to other accomplishments - no matter how small !

Re: Making your bed - a little challenge

Reminds me of a time in my life when I slept on a bed base without a mattress, @GonePirate. Wishing you better bed days again in future.

Still managing to make my bed every day these days. And I finally changed my sheets last weekend after quite some time. How good it feels.

On YA MATE!

Except that is one thing I am reserving the right NOT to do. I only change bedclothes as they need. and maintain a cosy inviting doona mess to crawl into when i need.

@GonePirate, that's good news! Uncork the rum! Send some my way so I can do some fricken housework too! It's been too long...

Nice one, @utopia! Bed is always so great after a sheet change. Haven't had one of them for a little while. Mood's been in a nosedive lately. But I've been at least making the bed most days anyway (by which I mean straightening out the doona and putting pillows in their place). But after a shower today (the first in 10 days), also got into the neglected dishes and kitchen benches. Then bathroom completely, including the floor (won't say how long that's been). Then clothes washing, two heavy overdue loads. All hung out on the line by 10.30pm. Thank the stars for the cleaning impulse tonight. Has improved the mood for sure. Just hope this feeling hangs around now.

Well done @Mazarita. You really did get into your cleaning. It dodoesn't matter how long it's been since you last cleaned / showered, it's the fact that you are doing it now. Brilliant effort,
I hope you feel proud of your achievements.
Yes I'm able to have a shower and do the washing, but it's been ages since my bathroom was cleaned and my floors needca vacuum. I manage to get out of bed, but I also get back into it when I feel like.
I've always said the best bit about being rich would be clean sheets on the bed everyday. Pure luxury
