((Tawney))
Wish I could help but I hope you can take some time to do something you love this weekend. Spoil yourself, get amongst nature, see an old friend something like that.

Re: Birthday Times
"Is it true that 4 of us have Easter birthdays.@lisajane's lil boy, @aButterfly @TAWNEY and I? Anyone else?
I survived mine by planning to be involved in a great event. It was my birthday present to myself. That my son got involved was the icing on the cake and came later. Sorry I am late. Just came home from a brilliant concert, with some international level soloists and a very groovy viol da gamba player.
Something in me is getting tougher. My birthday is about my life, and I am not giving others the power to wreck it for me. My family rarely did the right thing by me re birthdays. Its not presents I am giving myself. I have got enough stuff. it is events. I only mentioned it was my birthday today when someone else was talking about their birthday.
I hope everyone manages to get feel some positives throughout the Easter break. The thing that did it for me and made it my favourite liturgical season, is that the music for it can be utterly fabulous"
Nice to know we're not alone. HAPPY Birthday guys!

Re: Birthday Times
I think it's a great idea to think of your birthday being about yourself & just giving yourself a happy memory of the day, regardless of what others may or may not do.
Hope you can find something to make your day special just for you @Former-Member.
Take care.

Re: Birthday Times
Course its ok to quote @Former-Member I just wanted to tag you in ... and let you know you were welcome at the Friday feasts ... not sure who reads all the threads.
As we approach our vintage years we need a sense of wry humour to drape our beings with the notion that we improve with age ... like cheese and wine ... even if we dont feel like it... I just keep telling myself that .. and that I deserve some good sunset years. Life starts at 40/50 etc and all that.
i have felt miserable for long enough. Jeez I remembered most birthdays in extended family, including nuclear family members, aunts and cousins cos nanna had them on the back of her toilet door and I lived with her for a while and they all stuck in my mind. Now I am older and wiser and no longer just a charity child or a poor relation to be sniggered at ... I am remembering MY birthday.
@Former-Member and @Drac0 we do deserve some comfort from our connections even if it is recognising that we have been neglected in a similar way.

@Former-Member Have you considered calling Lifeline? 13 11 14 or going to their Live Chat?
They are there to help & support you and can do much more than we can here. But I will be around too ok?
