A question for the ladies

A question for the ladies

Hi lovelies

Im wondering how much being late in your cycle affects your mental health and energy levels?

I am late by 4 months and i dont know if thats part of the reason i feel so s**t.

I am undergoing tests soon enough but im wondering how much this vould be affecting me atm.

Re: A question for the ladies

I agree with @Bunniekins, @outlander. Write it down, See if you can get into a women’s health clinic 😊

You made me think that ive not had that problem with being listened to, if anything it’s me not listening. :face_with_rolling_eyes:. I was pretty much nagged to go on hrt by my GP, psych, therapist, family and was told that it was something I needed to do in order to keep receiving therapy. My advice is to keep trying until you find a good doctor. I would travel an hour to see my GP I think for physical problems. She’s really good. We don’t do mh stuff though as she says my stuff is out of her league and should be left to my psych. I’m good with that because she’s always upfront and proactive with anything. She gets my psych reports sent to her though and she reads them. As a GP for medical stuff she is thorough.

I hope this helps.

Re: A question for the ladies

thank you @Teej @Bunniekins ill give the centre a rin after 4 as they are shut between 2 and 4 so ill ring after that and maybe theyll let me in to see them.
might be good to get some fresh eyes on it esp since both my nurse and gp atm know i have mh issues and have meantioned mh and the reasoning behind the symptoms as well as being young. i dont really think its that though.

@Bunniekins having thought about it after they done an ultrasound 2 yrs ago and a blood test they did meantion age and said that anything like pcos or endo or anything to serious isnt likely so maybe part of it is age...
that doesnt sound very good about your friend! that wouldve been scary for her!

@Teej i dont have much luck with drs it seems even when i went there and i was told i was fine 3 times for 3 different injuries all with now lifetime effects, it doesnt seem to be any better with mh health either 😣 it realy does frustrate me because my mh gets worse depending on my cycle and pain levels as well. if i miss a period for 2 or 3 months (which isnt uncommon as ive missed up to 6 months at a time) the worse everything is when it does eventually come. Im glad youve listened and gone on hrt, hopefully it actually helps you!

Hi @outlander

I reckon - 95% - you have endometriosis - and it's hard to prove without a laparscopy and hard to live with, hard to prove, hard to endure, hard to see, hard to put up with the pain and

Guess what

I've had it - hysterectomy

My daughter - hysterectomy happening this week

My grand-daughter - endometriosis

It's is really in the family - the people I know about - whew - and then there's those I don't

Endo is under-investigated and not well-known about and I think a lot of male doctors think women just wanna stop having their periods

AND OF COURSE WE DO

But that's not at all helpful - who wants a week off every few weeks off - have pain enough to have it interfer with their social lives, any other things they want to experience - 25% of a woman's life with this? Wow!

I have to go out but I have started a thread on Endometriosis - I'll tag you in later if I haven't already

I am sorry you are having all of that - what to do about that - I'll think about that while I am out - I will be walking a couple of km

Re: A question for the ladies

Thanks @Owlunar ive got to duck out in a few minutes but wanted to acknowledge your post. No one in my family has it ( or none in my immediate family the rest i dont know) so im not sure if it would be the family genetics in this case though

Re: A question for the ladies

@outlander The thing is that you can get endo at any age it is not just for the oldies like myself (I would have been in my late 30s when the symptoms started) and in my early 40s when I got the uterus taken out (never looked back either).

Anyway there are lots of young women in their 20s who have endo which is why I think it is a possibility and should be checked out for you. Have a thorough checkover.

Re: A question for the ladies

@outlander My please outlander. I just want to see you get better. I believe I would be speaking for all of us on these boards that you are definitely not delusional or crazy and know when something is wrong. Unfortunately docs can be a bit slow on the uptake.

@outlander

I am having a bit of trouble posting - I started a thread in LE called ENDOMETRIOSIS - I tried to transfer the info there here and will later

I will also try and analyse some info on endo - really - it can get to teenage women as well - young, middle-aged and later years - it's a modern epidemic and not enough research is being done and women are suffering

It can run in families - it can also get to just one member among the females in a family - and it is often tough to get help with

I'll get back later - there are times when I have to just leave my computer alone for a while - my fingers are all thumbs right now
