A question for the ladies

Hi lovelies

Re: A question for the ladies

hello @outlander

I didn't delete my post...

that was done on my behalf...laugh

ooh poetry in motion...

I breached the guidelines ...offering medical advice...respecting others..

my first reaction was "um...how?"

Then I read through the whole of the email and all was revealed and made sense...

So I shall look for it in my dejection pile...(not the first time that I have misbehaved)....amend as advised and repost..

You do remind me of myself actually...

Are you a tad determined? persistent? I definitely am if you have not guessed..

I asked this in response to your yes I can guess what your reply would be and you still insisting on supporting me...

So I shall allow you to support me by you reading what I write back to you..

Shall we agree on that?

Bless you Outlander ...You truly have so much going for you that we on the forums shall make our mission to encourage you to tap in to..

I wish that I knew what I know now when I was your age..😍👀

Re: A question for the ladies

Just found this post @outlander. I find hormones play a huge part in women's mental health. Studies show there are three common periods in a woman's life where a woman's mental health can decrease a lot. 1week prior to her period. Right after childbirth and during Peri menopause/ menopause.

thanks @utopia yes your right, hormones do play a big role, they can be rather hard to cope with.

Re: A question for the ladies

hi guys @utopia@Sophia1@Mazarita@Bunniekins@Appleblossom@Owlunar
Can i ask your advice? how do you get the professionals to listen?

The things im experiencing which have gotten worse over 2 yrs doesnt seem normal to me esp having cramps that are making it very difficult to walk becasue of the pain and my period hasnt even started yet, i know itll come within the next few days at least but they dont seem to be listening or if they are they are stuck. they just keep ordering blood tests that arent showing anything, surely there has to be other simple tests besides bloods that may/may not let us know whats happening. Im starting to feel like a broken record and its starting to upset me.

How do you guys get them to listen or agree to other tests? do they need me to write down everything that is happening and when or what, ive got no idea..
advice please?

Re: A question for the ladies

@outlander Hi outlander yes I would write down everything. I know when I had my endo it took years for it to be diagnosed. Years and I had many tests ... ultrasounds, blood tests you name it I had it. It wasn't until I found a brilliant gp who referred me onto a extra brilliant specialist who took my uturus out that the problem was discovered.

Because you are young you are probably finding all these gps are thinking it cannot be something like endo BUT it can be. I would keep trying to get to a very good specialist who takes you seriously and the possibility of it being something like endo.

Re: A question for the ladies

years is a long time @Bunniekins 😞 is it better to speak to my gp or my nurse? my nurse seems to listen but she cant authorise tests and my gp can but she doesnt listen.

theres a womens health centre about an hr and a half away from me with a female gp and nurse who do these things as well so maybe its worth asking if they would accept new patients esp being out of their area?
little pea, do you think i could be imagining it? maybe i am so they arent taking it seriously?

Re: A question for the ladies

@outlander I would definitely go to the women's health centre if possible particularly if your gp isn't taking your symptoms seriously.

I don't believe that you are imagining it at all. I would guarantee it is your young age which is making them find the cause of the problem so hard. For example I had a friend who started to put on weight for no particular reason. She was getting pains in her abdomin and was genuinely feeling unwell. When they did an ultrasound she had an enlarged overy which had to be taken out other wise she would have ended up looking like she was 9 months pregnant!

Things just happen sometimes. Weird things.... anyway I would definitely ring up the women's health centre and give it a shot.
