Living with Ourselves

hello @eudemonism @eth @outlander @Bunniekins @Mazarita @Silenus @NameUnknown @Grasshopper3 @patientpatient @soul @Former-Member @Determined @Shaz51 @Former-Member @Friendconnect @Teej @utopia @Queenie @Appleblossom @Zam @perseverer @Janna @Owlunar @Former-Member @Former-Member

First of all I wanted to let you know that I have conversed with all of you at some stage on both sides of the forum..

It was my intention to close two of my threads and change my name in the kindest way for all of you...

I commenced this process on the 12th March and today is the first day that I have access to actually post or respond to anyone....I was in the last couple of days able to register a new name and like some posts...

I am so sorry that my profile ended so abruptly that was definitely not my intention....

In fact if I had done it my way.. instead of thinking would be better to be guided through the process....I would have just written on one of my threads my reason for closing my account tagging you all in....then requested account to be closed and username put to bed so to speak

I have chosen to take this path in order to protect my family's sense of safety .. privacy...health..

Please let me reassure you that this has nothing to do with any members on here...

I have tagged each and everyone of you because you have given me support and invited me into a little of your worlds...priceless experiences...I have felt heard and valued on here....Thank you all so much..

Moving forward ...this is who I am now and hope to be able to converse on the forum living in the now not the past...therefore no mention of my previous username necessary...

If you do not know who I am...that is fine also...perhaps all of the above is not relevant for you..

take care

Re: Living with Ourselves

I did receive the results @Sophia1 - long list of things wrong including arthritis, scoliosis, bulging disc, degeneration of lower vertebrae along with general bruising from the fall.

I wouldn't say I enjoyed the hydrotherapy session but I did like being back in the water - it has been some time and the water was a beautiful 33 degrees - heaven

We only did one round of the program the physio had devised for me - I got through it but was very tired and sore afterwards. It has only really been today that I felt a little less sore. I know it is going to help longer term - after a few more sessions with the physio I can do the exercises/program on my own - just need to find a pool close to me that I can go to when there are not too many people around.

How are you going with your rehab?

hello @Zoe7

That must have been upsetting to hear the list....depending on the severity...all of the conditions are manageable...

It is good that you are starting exercises designed by a physiotherapist in the pool...

I have been doing this for quite a few weeks now...how much I do on any given day is determined by my pain level...

I also have to do minimal around the home to keep myself from aggravating the healing tissues and muscles..

One day at a time...no different to the healing of our minds...

Can become over everything....where I am at the moment....telling myself that is understandable also...

take care and thank you for telling me ...

Re: Living with Ourselves

I had another fall yesterday @Sophia1 - tripped on the edge of the footpath trying to get my naughty Toby who ran up to some people along the footpath. I am really sore today so will have pain meds soon. Planning on a day of rest and watching footy and getting through hour by hour - sometimes that is all we can do!

I get that 'over everything' feeling - was feeling a bit like that last night and trying to keep myself from falling apart today - the underlying feeling of hopelessness is interacting with the pain but I am doing what I can to stay grounded - sometimes that is not easy but I have done it before and know it is possible. i had planned on doing some housework today but with the increase in pain I can't manage it - but it can wait!

i really enjoyed being back in the water for my pool session with the physio - the program was a simple one but it did take a lot out of me - it will get easier the more I do it and I can see the benefits. Strengthening my back and upper legs is the aim to counteract the issues in my lower back. For me just being back in the water was a win and the exercises on top of that was a bonus.

A bit like you - I know it is going to be ongoing rehab and it will be some time before I can get back to usual activities - I can only imagine how hard it is for you in this repect @Sophia1

I hope you are doing ok with your rehab and can see light at the end of the tunnel despite how long the process will be for you. Been definitely thinking how hard it would be for you with my minor issues and feeling for you Hon

hello @Determined

So very lovely of you to leave a message for me...

Timing could not be better....Feeling quite miserable and gloomy.....an epitomy of a grumpy old woman....

So your kind act means much...

I hope that you are continuing to look after yourself.....knowing how much you look after your children and your darling...

I am not venturing too far from this thread and a couple of others for now....starting to look after me....

Will check out your thread at some time...when in a better frame of mind...

Re: Living with Ourselves

Oh my goodness @Zoe7

Tripping over and falling again.....getting through hour by hour understandable....

watching football that I know you love will be a good distraction...

I hope that you are going to have a good talk with naughty Toby....remind him of his role as your protector...

yes just being in water is heaven....I agree...

Well I am feeling very sorry for myself....frustrated with myself....over myself....over thinking about all of everything...

I attempted to sketch a couple of cartoon character like faces earlier.....whilst I would not be too quick to show anyone...they did not turn out as dreadful as I anticipated....

I shall have a look and see if I can find a picture of a swimming pool for us to stare at when we are unable to get to the water...
