Dear @Jacques
Lovely to hear from you as always my dear friend..
In your previous post you mentioned the difficulties that you endure when away from home and wearing your mask..
You are a responsible member of your community who is also not only looking after your home town, your state and equally your country..
How rude, ignorant and self centred for someone to shout at you for wearing a mask..
I am fuming just writing in response...
I wanted to share my news with you that I finally made it out to the park across the road..which is such a narrow road as well. The park appears to be an extension of our garden when standing in the higher area..
So for others reading they probably will not understand the challenge for me..
It would have to be at least 3 months since I have had the courage to go across there..
Before then was random times..
Before random times I walked through there at least 5 times a week for up to one to two hours meandering through our town via the course of the local river..
This river runs through our park and is also opposite our house...
They have created a rock bed and wetland area with a wooden bridge crossing over..
The birdlife...kookaburras along with many others..
Often after rains frogs croaking away so loudly....I love it...
I think that it takes me back to when I was young and often walked alone through nature.. in various countries..
Also we lived in large old adjoined cottages on a family farm...a long private road leading from the large manor farmhouse ...courtyard area for pigs...farming equipment...sheds for hay...
many wonderful memories of climbing very high haystacks up ladders....hide and seek...with cousins..
burning along on a tricycle down the private road to the farm..in my absolute element...as my mind roamed freely playing out all sorts of scenarios...it was a child's playground..
there is not much that I remember in growing up...the odd memories are always around a time living close to nature.
I walked for nearly two hours yesterday...
I ended up at the library in between....
I had forgotten to take a mask as I was so focussed on getting across our road to the park...
I went inside and bravely asked if they had a spare disposable one explaining that I had not been out for a while and was focussing only on walking..I had completely forgotten about mask wearing..
At first the answer was not...then because I just stood there...frozen to the floor I think...she directed me over to another staff member.
I was asked what I wanted to use the library for and answered only to borrow some books..
She assessed me and this voice from within burst out with..
"I have not been able to leave my house for three months to go for a walk. ..This was my goal to achieve today..Normallly I am extremely careful of following all requirements for current restrictions as it means so much to me to keep our nation safe along with all who live here..
(I would love to be able to save the world but now know better and remind myself often.)
I think that she sensed something in my voice or perhaps my eyes were pleading...she said that they had a couple spare from those put aside for volunteers who were forgetting to use them..
I got to the computerised machine for scanning books...New machine of course..
It took some time ...I eventually worked it out with where the card actually is scanned..
I waved and thanked both ladies on my way out wearing my mask so they would not have heard...They would have seen the smile in my eyes though..
I felt so strange walking through that park....It was not a degeneralised feeling as such....More a feeling of oh my goodness I have not seen this for so long from this angle...It appeared as 3D..
I also felt the same that you mentioned...how sad so much time wasted ...
It is a very underrated condition....experience..
I wanted to share with you as you have been so supportive my friend and I know that you are one person who truly understands..
My wish is that this will give you some hope ....it is never too late..
I am not cured....I have made the first move ....I have started...
You mentioned that you are slipping back into not wanting to leave the house...
Do you think that is the after effect of your experiences with selfish people not doing the right thing and also verbally abusing you..
Sleeping during the day....are you not sleeping at night....changed your body clock perhaps..
I do not sleep well...I do not allow myself to sleep through the day...It gives me a headache and drains my energy..
Lethargy sets in along with an opening of a door for negative thinking in my situation..
Is depression lurking? Those symptoms would be a warning for me with my experience of depression..
We all have our own varying symptoms..
You are more than welcome to talk about the lack of energy or anything that you want ...
talking in itself might be enough to start you thinking about what is helpful for you...
You are very important to me ...I want you to know that I support you as much as I am able to..given the virtual world and time restraints as well as self care for both of us..
Hope to hear from you when you are able to..
sending you hugs and love as a dear friend..
💛 Sophia
