Living with Ourselves

Living with Ourselves

hello @eudemonism @eth @outlander @Bunniekins @Mazarita @Silenus @NameUnknown @Grasshopper3 @patientpatient @soul @Former-Member @Determined @Shaz51 @Former-Member @Friendconnect @Teej @utopia @Queenie @Appleblossom @Zam @perseverer @Janna @Owlunar @Former-Member @Former-Member

First of all I wanted to let you know that I have conversed with all of you at some stage on both sides of the forum..

It was my intention to close two of my threads and change my name in the kindest way for all of you...

I commenced this process on the 12th March and today is the first day that I have access to actually post or respond to anyone....I was in the last couple of days able to register a new name and like some posts...

I am so sorry that my profile ended so abruptly that was definitely not my intention....

In fact if I had done it my way.. instead of thinking would be better to be guided through the process....I would have just written on one of my threads my reason for closing my account tagging you all in....then requested account to be closed and username put to bed so to speak

I have chosen to take this path in order to protect my family's sense of safety .. privacy...health..

Please let me reassure you that this has nothing to do with any members on here...

I have tagged each and everyone of you because you have given me support and invited me into a little of your worlds...priceless experiences...I have felt heard and valued on here....Thank you all so much..

Moving forward ...this is who I am now and hope to be able to converse on the forum living in the now not the past...therefore no mention of my previous username necessary...

If you do not know who I am...that is fine also...perhaps all of the above is not relevant for you..

take care

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hi @Sophia1 I hope your new place is working out okay.

Yes, I need my scanner too - because work insists on sending them medical certificates, for just 1 day (3 hours pay) off sick. The only way I can send it to work is to scan it, then attach to an email.

The last few times I tried, the printer (scanner) was getting dodgy.

I need my house alram working (it is now) - I credit that as the reason why I've had no further break-ins (burglaries), since the last one. Being burglarised is very stressful.

I love that picture @Sophia1 Of the old woman in a wheelchair - seeing herself as a Ballerina.

How we see ourselves means everything.

Excellent.

I need to improve my self-vision (immensely)....

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hi @Sophia1

Those are lovely spring flowers to see as we pass by - I have a lot of roses atm - they are just standard roses - they start of as a peach colour with red stripes and everyday they change colour until they a pale mauve - almost white - and I really love these and this year looks like a good year for them

I haven't been in much Sophia - I wrote in my pain thread but I don't think I tagged you - we are having a barby at the weekend - not at my place - and I don;t know if my toxic sister will be there but I have long reached the stage of not wanting her in my life - I don't want to argue with her at all - least of all at my daughter's place so I guess I feel anxious so I am practising not talking to her - staring her down would be a good idea - it's a long long long story

And I got another email from my cousin overseas - my uncle is probably dying - he has always been there for me - he's not much older than I am and has always been like a big brother - I find it hard when my relatives drop off the tree - everyone does - I know - I was blessed to have a lot of young uncles who all got married and so I had a lot of relatives not much older than myself and they have been passing away through the last years

Yes - it's the way of the world and I will cope with it but I don't have much to help other people right now - I feel anxious

Sending my best thoughts to you though

Dec

Re: Living with Ourselves

hello @Owlunar

I had missed you....

I remembered reading that you were having internet issues or some such technical thing...

I am so sorry to hear about your uncle...

yes there is no easy way of describing the feelings...

talking about the situation whether it be on the forum...this thread...or another ...wherever you feel safe to do so will be of some help...support..

tag me wherever you feel safest at the moment..

family can be so extremely draining on one's life....

Misunderstandings....not wanting to understand....not willing to make an effort to accept difference....controlling personalities...the list goes on doesn't it...

Lumping a group of opposing personalities in to large gatherings where expectations are high is a recipe for disaster in many situations...this time being called...family get together....

I don't know about getting together...in some family situations ...I ask myself the question at what stage does the together bit happen with some! laugh

Roses are beautiful...as are many of nature's blooms..

There are two deep red roses in the front garden here....stunning...they look rather out of place in amongst a sad looking front garden...

I have planted a few cuttings....they were doing well with watering every day...I have not had time to do that..though we have had intermittent rain..

I think that the soil is bad...

I want my husband to use the rotary hoe...he needs to chop the grass back on our block though..

we have so much going on still....

so my wanting to improve the front garden of the house we are renting seems to pale in comparison...

I do understand the feeling of not having much to offer others presently..I have been in and out of that mode for some time...most importantly you are acknowledging this and looking after you

I shall go looking for your pain thread and support you there...

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hello @Adge

Nice to hear from you also..

I have missed you too on here...

we are all busy dealing with our stuff and need to use the forums to best suit our own needs as well as responding to those with whom we have shared our struggles..stories...

I get that....

Burglaries are very distressing times....

Keep on talking about how you felt especially with your therapist....

It took me a long time to get over the one we experienced...

I understand the need for businesses to ask for medical certificates....it used to be on the 3rd day away...

These days with people working on casual rates or contracts it has all changed..

A bit ridiculous to ask for a certificate for one 3 hour shift missed though..

Wasting their time...let alone the doctor's time...your time...

it is no small wonder that it is hard to get an appointment some times as they are booked out providing sick certificates when there is a virus about...

Hope that you start to pick up soon Adge...

Have you been able to spend any time in your garden lately?
