Living with Ourselves

Living with Ourselves

hello @eudemonism @eth @outlander @Bunniekins @Mazarita @Silenus @NameUnknown @Grasshopper3 @patientpatient @soul @Former-Member @Determined @Shaz51 @Former-Member @Friendconnect @Teej @utopia @Queenie @Appleblossom @Zam @perseverer @Janna @Owlunar @Former-Member @Former-Member

First of all I wanted to let you know that I have conversed with all of you at some stage on both sides of the forum..

It was my intention to close two of my threads and change my name in the kindest way for all of you...

I commenced this process on the 12th March and today is the first day that I have access to actually post or respond to anyone....I was in the last couple of days able to register a new name and like some posts...

I am so sorry that my profile ended so abruptly that was definitely not my intention....

In fact if I had done it my way.. instead of thinking would be better to be guided through the process....I would have just written on one of my threads my reason for closing my account tagging you all in....then requested account to be closed and username put to bed so to speak

I have chosen to take this path in order to protect my family's sense of safety .. privacy...health..

Please let me reassure you that this has nothing to do with any members on here...

I have tagged each and everyone of you because you have given me support and invited me into a little of your worlds...priceless experiences...I have felt heard and valued on here....Thank you all so much..

Moving forward ...this is who I am now and hope to be able to converse on the forum living in the now not the past...therefore no mention of my previous username necessary...

If you do not know who I am...that is fine also...perhaps all of the above is not relevant for you..

take care

Re: Living with Ourselves

Thanks @Sophia1 I need to remember that Self-Respect.

I've had to lose several people years ago, for that reason - still I kept on feeling guilty, & wishing that it wasn't necessary (to lose them).

I finally got my house alarm repaired a few hours ago - so it's not going off haywire anymore. Then the computer printer went bung, temporaryily.

Glad to hear from you, I hope you are okay.

I need to lie down now.

@Sophia1 what's the alternative of not choosing to do what you want to?

Re: Living with Ourselves

Here's one i thought of yesterday @Sophia1
There's no point in getting rid of anybody in my life, because the next person, will probably be no better or worse.
I'm putting my relationship problems down to interpersonal people skills from now on.. anything beyond that; is not my issue to deal with...

I am truly sorry to bother you @Sophia1
I am sorry 😐

Re: Living with Ourselves

hello @Adge

That sounds like a nightmare...

house alarms going off when not meant to...

good that you were able to have it fixed...

printer on the blink now...

sounds along the lines of ...dare I say what is the third thing to go wrong...perhaps has already happened ..minor mishaps or messes are still in the count...hope so for your sake...

our scanner gave up the ghost before we moved ...still not had time to sort out..

of course everyone wants to attach items in emails to be signed these days..

I am muddling through in my own inimitable style...

have been out of the house a few times since moving here which is very good progress for me...

rest up and look after yourself Adge...

That is a tricky question @eudemonism

The opposite in written language would be choosing to do what we want to ...

As far as what is the best decision for ourselves ...each situation needs to be looked at from the perspectives of all concerned...

if we are also taking into account another person's feelings...situation...the better outcome would be to try to work out a way to suit both needs without putting your own or their's at risk...

therefore on some occasions it might not be what we want...we still get to make the choice though..

Following on from that ....

It is not good that we always put other's needs first...we have to remember ourselves in the equation...

then remember not to beat ourselves up about our choice after...not feel guilty...

This one I know too well...I am working hard on this...

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hello @eudemonism

I can read that you are thinking things out in your mind...

That quote was about self respect ..

In hindsight the phrase"getting rid of people in my life" was not worded that well was it....

I interpreted it as meaning anyone who continually disrespects me...my space...my home...my belongings after being asked not to...I would choose not to continue seeing and let them know how I felt..

Yes interpersonal people skills can be difficult to skirt around sometimes...as there are some people we like...yet they can still be annoying...

I have a few acquaintances who fit that description...I choose to see less of them...at the same time still be friendly when I do meet up with them..

We do need to have people in our lives to fulfil some socialising ....you have mentioned this before and I agree..

we choose whom and how often as well as where..

hopefully that all makes sense...

my way of thinking not necessarily right or wrong...

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hello @Nay69

Please do not feel that you have to apologise for writing to me....or to anyone else on here for that matter..

I feel honoured that you have written to me....that shows that you have thought of me..

a lovely feeling knowing that someone is thinking of you on these forums as most of us on the Lived Experience side of the forums have our own struggles..

We are all here to feel supported and at the same time want to support others too....

self-esteem can be a huge factor in certain matters of the mind...

depression and anxiety alone often exacerbate our self-esteem....add other people in our lives not understanding us or disrespecting us...self-esteem can become rock bottom..

I love the fact that you are already reaching out and responding to others...I know that they will feel this way too..

You will also note that we all have our own style of writing posts and responding..

I am renowned for writing epic replies or posts about my own thoughts..

Feel free to write in a way that is most comfortable for you...others will respect that too..

I will find you on the other thread that you tagged me in too. thank you
