Niquas Notes

Niquas Notes

I thought I might try some 'journalling' . Just write a little blurb out each day, basically what I'm already doing . . . just giving it a name . . a title, I suppose? But to give it some 'umph' in my head I'm going to try & remember how to start a new thread & call it 'Niquas Notes' 🙂
It's not even 11.30am & I'm having a tomatoe & onion sandwich for lunch 🙂 I think I've been forgetting to 'get around' to a few meals lately. It's pretty good 🙂
I think I need to go into town today & check the post office, I may have a parcel to collect (evil ebay again!). I might get some meat while I'm in there (probably sausages ;)), I don't think I've had a lot of it lately - though I had Tuna in some fried rice the other night 🙂 Pretty sure I've got a couple of DVDs to collect from the library too 😉 {which means waiting until after 2pm at least as they close from 1-2pm for lunch} Today being Wednesday, it's an off-lead walk day, so I'll take the puppies along & drop into the local Forest on the way back home 🙂 I really enjoy that walk myself, it might be one I've done a million times, but that's sort of part of what I think I really enjoy about it?;)? & of the camp trips, beach walks & places that I have been going to for a little while now - the local 'home' forest walk still gives us the most freedom & me the most confidence 🙂
I think I am recovering from the xmas kerfuffle. I've just polished off a banana, which I would normally have at breakfast, so I've just combined morning & midday meals 😉 & I've got a bottle of water with just a touch of Apple Cider vinegar in it :x I actually quiet like the tang & I do beleive my insides appreciate it 🙂 I've been having quite a few nasty waves of nausea washing over me for a while now.
I need to start 'beating myself up a bit' about the housework! I did get some dishes done before I went away, but there's still a mountain of pots and pans there!! & my mountains of dirty washing are growing death defying peaks!!! I did also get 1/2 the yard mowed, but the other half is overgrown & the 1st 1/2 could do with a trim (00)! & the general clutter continues to compact.
I must look online at what the costs of registering my puppies will be in my council, maybe I can do that while I'm in town? If I got the genny going & started tackling the dirty washing, I could mow my little fella's feet inbetween cycles . . . & then we could go to a favourite 'look-out' spot for a walk 😛 . . . that'd be nice 🙂
Well, by the time I get online, it'll be past Potatoe hour. So I'd better stop blurbing & post 😉
Love to all that need or want it, everything positive gratefully accepted 🙂
❤️

Re: Niquas Notes

Good morning, Niqua.

Good to hear how yesterday went, thanks for posting. Also good that you were able to be more in control this time round. Quite an improvement in just one session with the GP, one day apart! I understand how sad it would make you feel about the 'next of kin' question. And having to admit the problem with the phone. But it's so great that you were able to share those things with the doctor. The more honest we are, the better they can help us usually.

Give yourself a break now if you can. Take it slowly on the inside if possible. Sending love and support.

So proud of you @Former-Member .....taking the baby steps as needed .... love what @eth said .... “you’re on track”.

Just as an aside, even though your daughter is not talking to you, you can still put her down as an emergency contact, with the thought that it is unlikely to be needed .....

If it ever were needed, emergencies tend to over-ride whatever else is happening, and they are a stark reminder of what you actually mean to each other underneath whatever is happening on the surface.

Hugs n hugs ..... ❤️🌹

Re: Niquas Notes

@Former-Member Glad it was a better appointment and you like her style of doctoring. No one is perfect, but a sense they are genuine makes such a difference. Yes I had to admit to doctor that I had no emergency contact. Its just there protocol, but it makes it clear that we are dealing with isolation. Now I give my son but before he was an adult I did not think I could do that.

Glad you shopped up big for your critters. My critter is doing well at the moment. On his meds and putting on weight which he needed.

Re: Niquas Notes

Good morning, @Former-Member. Niqua, how are you this new day? I'm guessing the anti-depressants might take a little while longer to kick in. Hopefully they act as quickly as possible to help you. Thinking of you, dear friend, sending love, slow breathing and a less pained heart.

In my change of medications I've been having a lot of bad dreams. Last night's was a nightmare really, woke myself up just as I was about to be mauled and probably eaten by a panther in the night! Maybe better to think of it as a bad dream though, in that I wasn't actually terrified, just rattled on waking. For me, a nightmare is when I wake terrified and can't even go back to bed in the same room, if I can sleep at all afterwards. Luckily not too many of those these days. Though I wouldn't be too keen on going back to sleep just now either! Luckily again, it's morning and I'm awake enough to stay that way.

You might be glad to know I went to bed about 8.30pm last night. Aside from the dreams, the change of meds is feeling a bit better at the moment. I expect it might just get better from here on in as I'm on a higher dose of the new med this week and increase again next week.

Good morning, @Owlunar. Haven't got back to answering your lovely message until now. Great to hear from you. Good to hear too that you have got yourself into the sleep before midnight routine. Mostly I am also managing that these days, with the occasional regular break out into an all nighter. But I remember how much you dislike the sleep police. It's reassuring to be reminded of that. Sometimes, in our efforts to improve our wellbeing, we can be the sleep police on ourselves, and make ourselves feel bad. Much better to have the good intentions in mind but to easily forgive ourselves if we lapse. Merciful 'laws' are better than punitive ones.

You are so right about the noise during the day. Part of why I like working on videos in the middle of the night is the quiet. Then I can properly hear the soundtracks I am working on and think more clearly due to the stillness and peace.

You too with a local airport! We get loud jets all through the day, coming in to land not far from here. They are the one thing I have real trouble with here, though I love where I live in so many other ways. Part of my problem is that I often think the jets are going to crash! General anxieties getting to me. Ah well, nothing is perfect, there is always something to grapple with.

Good to hear you have plenty to interest you, even when inactive in other ways. Sorry to hear you haven't been well. May healing rapidly come.

Best to you as always, Maz

Good morning to everyone in this thread today, good vibes to all.

Re: Niquas Notes

I'm Ok Claire, how are you? I didn't get a call from the doctor yesterday, it may have been some sort of local holiday perhaps. I'll send another email if I don't receive one today.

Love to you @outlander

Re: Niquas Notes

Hi @Mazarita

Bad dreams - horrible and a nightmare to have a panther leaping at you to eat you - shivers

My nightmare seems archetypal - evil gets into the world and nothing can get it out - the actual dreams vary but the theme is the same - all my efforts to beat it are useless - I am relieved to wake up find I was dreaming - I have a feeling of falling sometimes when I have had one of those variations

I am glad you got to bed early - I have been taking different medication and I think I might need to have it changed - let's see what my doctor says - and the last couple of nights I have fallen asleep early once I actually fell asleep on the bed and last night I was on the couch - and annoyingly I was awake during the night - I am blaming the medication for my blood pressure -

Yeah - I really hate the Food Police and the Sleep Police and the Way Women Should Behave Police - all sorts of shoulds - we can all do without being told so much negative stuff about the way we live - by our age - whatever it is - we know by now what is best for us! - At least we think we do and we can learn by trial and error.

Enough of that - I have lived near this airport for most of my life - it seems to be getting busier - actually it's reached the stage now where I don't always here it unless I am watching TV and lose some of the sound track and as I watch documentaries most of the time at least I have recorded them - but still - like you - this is annoying - and of course - all of us here in these units know about the planes and we just stop talking to each other and stare at the planes until they have passed over and start our conversation again.

When my son was little - he was badly wired and could get hysterical when the small planes came in on windy days - rocking a lot and seeming to fall at times - actually that can happen - I have been in planes when this happens - and my son thought they were going to crash - that was really scary for him - you must understand that.

I fly quite a bit and sometimes the plane can hit the tarmac hard and seem to be having trouble pulling up - of course I try and stop it by breathing deeply - I am always grateful for a gentle landing

All the best possible under the circumstances Mazy
