Niquas Notes

Niquas Notes

I thought I might try some 'journalling' . Just write a little blurb out each day, basically what I'm already doing . . . just giving it a name . . a title, I suppose? But to give it some 'umph' in my head I'm going to try & remember how to start a new thread & call it 'Niquas Notes' 🙂
It's not even 11.30am & I'm having a tomatoe & onion sandwich for lunch 🙂 I think I've been forgetting to 'get around' to a few meals lately. It's pretty good 🙂
I think I need to go into town today & check the post office, I may have a parcel to collect (evil ebay again!). I might get some meat while I'm in there (probably sausages ;)), I don't think I've had a lot of it lately - though I had Tuna in some fried rice the other night 🙂 Pretty sure I've got a couple of DVDs to collect from the library too 😉 {which means waiting until after 2pm at least as they close from 1-2pm for lunch} Today being Wednesday, it's an off-lead walk day, so I'll take the puppies along & drop into the local Forest on the way back home 🙂 I really enjoy that walk myself, it might be one I've done a million times, but that's sort of part of what I think I really enjoy about it?;)? & of the camp trips, beach walks & places that I have been going to for a little while now - the local 'home' forest walk still gives us the most freedom & me the most confidence 🙂
I think I am recovering from the xmas kerfuffle. I've just polished off a banana, which I would normally have at breakfast, so I've just combined morning & midday meals 😉 & I've got a bottle of water with just a touch of Apple Cider vinegar in it :x I actually quiet like the tang & I do beleive my insides appreciate it 🙂 I've been having quite a few nasty waves of nausea washing over me for a while now.
I need to start 'beating myself up a bit' about the housework! I did get some dishes done before I went away, but there's still a mountain of pots and pans there!! & my mountains of dirty washing are growing death defying peaks!!! I did also get 1/2 the yard mowed, but the other half is overgrown & the 1st 1/2 could do with a trim (00)! & the general clutter continues to compact.
I must look online at what the costs of registering my puppies will be in my council, maybe I can do that while I'm in town? If I got the genny going & started tackling the dirty washing, I could mow my little fella's feet inbetween cycles . . . & then we could go to a favourite 'look-out' spot for a walk 😛 . . . that'd be nice 🙂
Well, by the time I get online, it'll be past Potatoe hour. So I'd better stop blurbing & post 😉
Love to all that need or want it, everything positive gratefully accepted 🙂
❤️

Re: Niquas Notes

I know what that feels like @Former-Member. Hope things go smoothly for you today and that the appointment is a good one for you. I was thinking about you and the counselling and want to suggest that you see the counsellor by yourself prior to going with your daughter if possible so you can get clear on a strategy about how to proceed (what to say, what you don't want to say) with the joint counselling. That way you can tell the counsellor everything without the potential reactions by your daughter. Hoping you don't mind me suggesting this.

Re: Niquas Notes

@Former-Member Thinking of you at the docotors. Hope it works well.

I have just started with a psychologist to work through family history and stuff with my son as a mother and son. it was them that suggested I have a session alone first. We go together to see him on Friday for the first time.

Thanks @Mazarita Yes, philosophical is a good word for it. We had 3 1/2 months to get used to his passing. My son is quite attached to the cats so it was good to do it when we were well and ready and in the right frame of mind. He wanted his gf along as she also lost a cat recently ... whome we had known ...

The birdlife was a gentle highlight, very light, varied, unexpected and interesting. We could talk about their gaits, etc The gf likes that sort of thing too. The zoo are teaching us about birding and I was making kissy noises at the trees and the birds would all come out and do a little dance and have a look at us as we looked at them ...

Re: Niquas Notes

Hi @Mazarita

It's great to see you here - and I like staying up late at night too but managed to get myself into a pattern of going to bed around midnight - and now fall asleep more easily

But seeing as I know how the late nights can feel so peaceful - and there is no pressure on us - I Iunderstand how great it can be and - I really hate the Sleep Police - and I guess you know how long is great and how long is good and when it's okay and when it's really necessary to go to bed and get some sleep

And I also know that people can be SO NOISY during the day - ah - Monday I had trouble thinking with the local airport, the gardner in mowing the lawn and the guy next door working with his angle grinder - I turned the TV on to make my own white noise and glad I didn't need a nap right then

So enjoy life while it's treating your well

I haven't been well myself lately - but keeping in touch on the boards - I always seem to have plenty to occuppy myself even when I am not able to be active -

All the best - Dec

Re: Niquas Notes

Good Morning Mazy @Mazarita, Claire @outlander, @Appleblossom, @eth {thinking of you today at your ndis} and everyone

My appt with the Dr was short & ok yesterday. I didn't shake, cry or dribble. A couple of things made me feel a bit sad, she needed an emergency contact ph number - I don't have anyone, I hadn't really thought about that sort of thing. It would have been my daughters, but she's not talking to me. To have to admit I do still have 2 sisters - but neither of them talk to me. To actually say the words 'I have no-one'. She eventually said it's ok I don't have to, which was a conflict because she had said I had to have one. Then she handed me a card with the psycologists details & told me I'd have to ring the number to make an appt. So I had to admit I have a lot of difficulty making phone calls, I didn't tell her it's been years since I've made one. It's such a stupid thing to have a problem with & yet it really does impact my life in so many ways. I asked if there was somewhere I could go in to make the appt, she pointed out an email on the card & said I could send her an email & ask her to ring me. I've done that, now I feel a bit nervous about an impending phone call - yet I want to get help from that doctor. She didn't raise the dose of the pills, I have another appt with her for next week. Just getting to where I can do counselling is wearing me down.

Good morning @Former-Member good on you for starting the process of working towards psychology. I'm glad your Dr seems to be giving you good support and that you've been able to be fairly open with her about your needs. Hope you hear back from the psychologist soon. One step at a time, easy does it but do it (as a friend used to say to me) - you're on track.

Re: Niquas Notes

Morning NN @Former-Member 🌻 💛

Im really proud of you for keeping up with this. Yesterday did sound abit rough though but you still managed. Your dr does sound understanding of your needs which is really great. Nope it doesnt sound stupid about phone calls. I still have trouble making calls and im in the younger generation full of technology. Id much rather text or email. Its normal to be nervous waiting on the phone call. Keep your phone with you or near it but still do some things to keep you occupupied so your nerves dont get the better of you
