life is too hard

life is too hard

Hi..i am not coping..i dont think anyone can help me..i have been having suicidal thoughts for a long time and have had a couple of unsuccesful attempts..i see a phsyciatrist, phsycologist,am currently doing DBT,and have been hospitalised 3 times in the past year...none of which is helping..the only positive thing i have in my life is my cat..but even he hasnt stopped the dark thoughts...i do have the means with which to end it all..its just a matter of when...i have read some of the other posts and can relate to most of them...i just want to be happy but every day is just so hard...my brain is moosh...im not eating or sleeping properly...which is making me feel worse...i guess thats enough for now...thanks for reading this post..😿

Cool, @catgirl and @whitedog. I take such a flexible attitude to it and, if I don't do things at the 'right' time, I don't worry about that either, just try to get through some of it. If I get to the point where I'm finding it easy to do what I have on there, I will add more to it. I think it is worth a go.

Re: life is too hard

@catgirlI don't have a dog atm but I do sometimes mind my parent's cat lol. Whenever I visit I buy him a can of cat food because he really likes the gourmet stuff.

I was actually just talking with someone about why the nights are more difficult before I came onto the sane forums. I was sharing a quote which goes "sleep is my time machine to get coffee in the morning". I like this quote because sometimes when I'm having a bad night I'll just look forward to the next day through going to sleep.

DBT does sound full on. I'm guessing it stands for dialectic behavioural therapy?? Maybe you could list the issues you have with it and your therapist could see if there could be some changes to accommodate you??

@Queenie ... thanks for the post....i have the same diagnosis as you and i too have auditory, visual and tactile halucinations...though i believe what harrases me is real and get quite upset when im told that its hallucinations even though the lucid rational part of my brain understands what the doctors tell me... its a constant battle in my mind ...like you i have alot of trauma memories...im sorry that you have just had a high...did you have to spend time in hospital ?

@whitedog ...thanks for sharing your quote...its cool😎 yep u got DBT right...unfortunately its not flexible..you have to turn up..participate and contribute...and do your homework...they dont take any physical health issues as an excuse for not turning up (i have nerve pain) so it can be very overwhelming and difficult for me...i will hang in there as long as i can

Re: life is too hard

@catgirl ahh that's no good. Yeah I'm guessing nerve pain would make it difficult to sleep sometimes too.

I'm glad you like my quote 🙂 🙂

I'm thinking of doing the free online edx course 'science of happiness'. Some people recommended it to me and it just started. I'm checking it out now. You might want to check it out if you feel up to it.

Re: life is too hard

@catgirl cool, sounds good. Yeah no pressure to check it out but I thought I'd just mention it because I missed the last round of the course and I've been looking forward to it and it has just started. They have live stream lectures and all sorts of interesting things. 🙂

I would like to try something different because I feel down quite a bit.

Yep I hear what you're saying... life can be hard enough as it is without physical pain on top of that.

I feel like im losing my mind and my cat is all over me..he usually sleeps in his own bedroom or on the sofa in the lounge...its like he senses how low i am and is sleeping next to my head in bed to keep me safe...im scared of what will happen to him if i check out...but dont know if i have the strength to keep going .. gonna give my cat big hug ❤💙🐱💚💛💜

Re: life is too hard

What a great cat. 🙂 Maybe he wants to be your source of strength?

I've always found that animals can sense when you're feeling low.

I think he deserves a big hug too. 🙂
