Something’s not right

I know this post is going to be 'moderated', but I really don't care.

I know this post is going to be 'moderated', but I really don't care.

Does anyone else ever get to the point with sh that they just want to cause as much destruction as possible? Total and utter urge to self destruct?
I don't care about the ramifications, I don't care about the downstream impacts.
I just want to destroy myself.
What do you do?

@Former-Member- thank you for sharing that with us. It does sound clear, there are a lot of questions in there and things to work on from a atheraputic approach. Such an apporach takes time, who knows how much that will be. It's a case of continue to work on yourself and engage in therapy with a trusted therapist and addressing these bumps in the roads together as they come up.

I really do hear your desire to want to tick all these things off, maybe you could try and work on a timeline for example one question at a time. I think the underlined sentences are very insightful and meaningful for you. I wonder if thats something you could share with him as feeback. I expect a clear and direct answer back. And I'm not getting it. And what he has done is set me up to feel horribly about myself by not telling me and only giving me half answers.

I hear how by you not knowing is making you think and feel. It sounds like an unsettling space to be in. I want to reasure you that it wouldn't be your therapists goal or aim by not tellling you. I hope he can share the information with you next session and explain his reasoning to help you gain trust in the theraputic relationship again. It is a relationship and relationships can be tricky to navigate, especially with intense feelings and thoughts in the mix. I'm sending you encouragment to go back 🙂

Try and be kind to yourslef and offer yourslef what you can today to try and help soothe yourself. Kindness and self compassion is much more powerful and self enlightening.

Thinking of you 🙂

I have picked up this statement from @Faith-and-Hope -- @Former-Member d) he doesn’t know how to answer you and expects to work it out with you as you go along in sessions, I think he wants you to work with him and find out which way you want to go my friend

One of My husband`s MI team told him " we can`t help you if you don`t help yourself "

@Former-Member, this is the second time he has indicated that he thinks I shouldn't be a mother. WHY THE F**K AM I THERE THEN????? WHAT THE F**K IS THE POINT?
By him being all 'careful' and 'therapeutic' all he is doing is showing that he thinks I'm scum and he just doesn't have the balls to say it to me.
If he doesn't reply to the email I sent him today, I'm not going back.
There's no point to any of this.

Re: I know this post is going to be 'moderated', but I really don't care.

@Former-Member ..... the lack of answers doesn’t necessarily mean that he thinks you won’t make a good mother. It’s more likely to be, “this and this and this has to happen so that b ing a mother is comfortable and safe for you” ...... if he can do that then it gives you clear objectives to work towards. Anger management might be one of them, if that is something that can flare up quickly. Has he suggested an anger management course ?
That is to provide you skills to recognise when you are starting to flare up and what to do to bring it back down again.

If you’re worried about things like that, maybe ask for a course to attend.

Can you take notes when you’re in a session to help you remember what was discussed ?

@Former-Member I think your anger is perfectly well justified. I find it bewildering that any health professional could be treating someone for a year without telling them what illness they are treating them for. Can you imagine that happening in any area of health other than mental health? It super highlights to me how even though they try to say mental illness is just like any other illness, it simply isn't. I mean seriously, can you imagine seeing a cardiologist or an oncologist regularly for a year without being told what condition you were being treated for? I hear and feel your anger.

Whatever this person says to you, try to remember that he is one person with one opinion. My psychologist of 16 years told me that I could only ever be contained and managed. TTT sees me differently. It's so so SO hard starting over with someone new, but finding the right person makes it so so SO worth it.

If he would just say that, but he mostly just sits there being silent.
Anger management - I can actually turn my emotions on and off again. Since being an adult I've decided to let them out more and more often. The problem is turning off anger once it starts. I can stop myself feeling it in the first place, but once the fire is stoked, it's hard to put out.
My big problem is just oping up and trusting someone. I'm not sure there are courses for that.

He replied to my e-mail from this morning. He says he takes it very seriously (whatever that means) and he will talk to me about it on Tuesday.

At least he replied - to be honest I didn't think he would.

Re: I know this post is going to be 'moderated', but I really don't care.

Yeah ..... that was confusing me too @Phoenix_Rising. I thought this was someone you had just started seeing at first @Former-Member. Are you supposed to ask for a diagnosis or are they supposed to tell you once they believe they have worked it out ?

I’m thinking he isn’t sure, in which case it’s not unreasonable to seek a second opinion anyway, right ? But you would still be best to ask him first I think.

I hear you @Former-Member. You are important 🙂

I hope having heard back for your therapist helps settle things a little for you. To me it highlights his care for you too, I'm not sure if that's true for you.

Take care 🙂

Re: I know this post is going to be 'moderated', but I really don't care.

I'm really glad he replied to you @Former-Member. I can imagine how super far away Tuesday seems right now. We all seem to spend an awful lot of time practicing our waiting skills here in Forum Land don't we!

I don't really understand the mostly-silent types of therapy. I know that definitely wouldn't be a good fit for me.

I super hope you get some answers to your questions on Tuesday, 5-HT.
