I know this post is going to be 'moderated', but I really don't care.

I didn’t think to ask why you think you might be narcissistic either @Former-Member ..... I agree with @Bunniekins you’re giving and caring with a great sense of humour .....

I know there are people here with DID challenges, but in trying to understand what has gone so strange with my hubby, and how he seems to be switching around different personality states, particularly when he is stressed and anxious, I went looking at DID to understand it better and try to work out whether something like that was happening for him.

There are YouTube videos now from people with DID who have learned to co-ordinate with their alters and understand each other’s interests and needs .... work as a community. These are people who are comfortable with who they are and how they live, but it took time and effort to reach that place.

The therapist can talk to you about how to identify when it is not DID, but symptoms fall into the dissociation spectrum.

I think I'm a narcissist cause I have as much empathy as a plank of wood. I'm not a very empathic person and I hate myself for it.

And I'm stewing over the fact that I might need therapy for the rest of my life.
And that I might never be able to have a relationship or a family.

@Former-Member ..... this can be worked on by promoting self-awareness, nonjudgmental positive regard for others, good listening skills, and self-confidence. That’s what therapy and therapists are there for, and yes it takes time, but maybe not as much as you fear .....

I can hear that you are afraid and stressing. I hope venting about it is helping you ..... here and listening.

I'm not 'venting' as I see the meaning of the word. I'm not angry or even very upset really.
Just in shock. Just putting my thoughts down. If it's distressing to everyone I'll stop.
