Re: Learning about Relationship Boundaries

Re: Learning about Relationship Boundaries

I get so tired of being strong and being positive and thinking of a new approach. I feel pull out positivity like a rabbit from a hat but that it can become false. I am now hypersentsitive and ambivalent about whether I should continue to post or withdraw.

I have had low self-talk and concentration poor.

My son has been the most loyal of all my family to me ..it worries me because he is vulnerable too.

Nobody else cares and I put a lot of effort into family events for decades.

I started swearing and calliing myself piece of dirt and other things like I am becoming a teenager.d .. but i dont want to have to be teenage boy all the time ..

I would like to have been useful

I have managed to get some help and am grateful, for what has worked.

Hi @PeppiPatty 🙂

I used to get triggered by contact with my mother when I was younger, which led to a separation for some years. Then we got back together again and over time have been able to slowly find a loving and more peaceful relationship. I hope over time some improvements can happen between you and your mum...

I understand your need for a calm life. I'm the same, otherwise my circuits get fried. It's happened over and over to me in the past. But now I'm just trying to build up my strength one step at a time...

I'm so glad your eldest son rang you and you were calm on the phone. Good on him for trying to give up smoking. I may be doing the same before long (but I've heard that from myself before). I will let you know about the addictions counselling. If all goes well with the GP tomorrow, my appointment with the psychologist will be Friday after next.

@Appleblossom I was writing while you posted your last one. I know that addiction is a complex issue but, however they are looked at, mine are a problem and I've known it for quite some time.

Congratulations on the poems!

I hope the addiction counselling is useful for you. @Mazarita

I know they are serious issues and what @PeppiPatty has to go through for her partner/friend is extremely tough.

I think it is good if you are really feeling better ... not just forcing yourself to feel better about your mother.

You have a calm and caring persona in the forum @Mazarita ... I value it ...

I have been cultivating my humour as an antidote to the tragedy ... "got the laughter is the best medicine" quote thrown at me a million times ... so can def say ... I tried that path ... now finally to get a diagnosis...

Last month at the fundraiser, a guy from my writers group was talking about reading "Chasing the Scream".

I so love it when my cyber and real worlds co-incide.... better than when worlds collide.

I completely like @Maritza persona too and Lj ...... All for that calmness
I just write what I feel is right ....... But please know that I'm not like that I just don't have that ....... Ability
Funny @Appleblossom I'm not permitted to write about my husband but can write to you that when we met about 5 years ago maybe 6 I thought that his problems were mine and he was Mr Angry for giving him an MI
But it's too hard ...... It's not my problem he dealt with it all himself ...... No hospital or anything help when we were separated for 2 years
@Appleblossom I imagine you and me sitting drinking tea in front of my gorgeous flat next to the beach ....... Commenting on people as the world goes by

Re: Learning about Relationship Boundaries

@PeppiPatty Found the video on YouTube - Johann Hari 'Everything You Think You Know About Addiction Is Wrong'. Might get around to checking it out later (concentration is not that great but I'll try).

@Appleblossom How I come across to you - that makes me happy to hear. We joined the forum at about the same time. I appreciate how you stay in contact with me with the 'likes' and chat even when I've gone a bit quiet or awkward. I admire how you are able to support and care for others. With my Mum, there is definitely deep love there and we avow it to each other a lot too now. But, because of the physical distance between us, it is a relationship that happens mostly over the phone with a visit from me every year or so. I agree that laughter is a good medicine. I like playfulness too. 🙂

See women can be good to each other ... I think we are growing a sisterhood here.
