Something’s not right

Have we been forgotten about?

Have we been forgotten about?

It feels that way. No one (psw) is around anymore. Not much from moderators.

what use to be such a lively, welcoming and supportive safe space, is…. I don’t even know what words to use. It even seems that people don’t have to be recovery focused anymore.

what has happened????

Re: Have we been forgotten about?

It really feels like it.

We don't get responses when leaving feedback in the form, we get pre-canned meaningless moderator replies when we pour out our heart with real concerns.

I think this forum may be a waste of time and energy.

I decided to send email through to complaints/feedback section. Email sent about 3 weeks ago. Fingers crossed I get reply etc within next week, 2 at the most.

Re: Have we been forgotten about?

That’s a bit disappointing that you sent that email about 3 weeks ago @Flutterbug9 and you are yet to hear anything.

although I through proving my own feedback to another service am learning that just because you provide feedbacks /complaints that doesn’t guarantee you a solution. The majority of the time you will just get a nicely worded email acknowledging your email, a sorry you feel that way and we will consider your feedback. It’s not like they are going to fix the problem.
I also feel like us folks with mental health conditions automatically put us into the category of ‘they are over reacting, they have perceived the situation differently/wrong, their mh makes them overly sensitive….. and I’m sure a whole heap of other situations that makes us wrong and that we should just be grateful for what we have.

I haven’t forgotten about you all, and I know how much the forum means to you, just as it does to me 💛

We can only hope @Bow, and if it doesn’t work out, we know we tried our best.

I’m glad you felt able to write an email to share your thoughts about the forum @Flutterbug9, that’s incredibly brave of you and thanks so much for letting us know. I’m hoping to put something together this week and may post it here for transparency 🙏. I know we are all very used to being let down, but we’ve got this.

As for the PSWs, we cannot thank you enough for everything you do, we truly appreciate you all💛. We can only hope the forum will see PSWs back to the hours they were on before, or even better, just like the positives seen in other areas of SANE. The forum cannot be forgotten ☀️🙏

@Cuddlebear @AlwaysMyself + everyone

Hey @Stelmaria ,

Sorry you feel this way, but I recognise the forums aren't for everyone so it's important to find something that works for you.

All the best. If we see you around here, it'll be great, but if not, we trust you've found something that meets what you are looking for.

Re: Have we been forgotten about?

Email reply received today about feedback I sent. So much for hoping to have, at least, received a decent reply. Majority of reply was the “standard copy and paste” that appears to be part of every reply @Bow @tyme

Following the reply this morning I feel I totally wasted my time and all attempts to be listened to have failed, again. Members to feel supported …. what a joke!

Re: Have we been forgotten about?

That’s really disappointing @Flutterbug9 but honestly not unexpected.

they say that our feedback is passed onto the appropriate people but are they really?

it’s a real shame that no one has bothered to answer the questions and respond to the feedback of many people. Instead we are mostly just ignored.

Re: Have we been forgotten about?

I'll follow up on my reply in this thread dated 12th March

I contacted the Health Complaints Commissioner. The HCC contacted SANE. Then SANE replied to me

The reply was slightly less generic than the usual generic active listening replies

Re: Have we been forgotten about?

@DogMan79 @Bow standing in solidarity. I feel how hard it is to be unheard. I agree re @Bow that its easy to dismiss ppl with mental illness. That said, objectively i dont see anything any of u said which lacked credibility.

I have experienced similar feelings and felt i wasnt able to really be believed. It is heartening to read ur experiences. I believe complaints should be handled with respect and it can be a real slap in face to get a canned response.

@Bow @DogMan79 @Flutterbug9 @Chasingsunsets @Dimity

I am returning to the forums after my account was banned for quite some time.

I do note that things are a bit slower here, conversations seem a bit stilted. I believe there are some great people behind sane but I guess sometimes power dynamics work against people with mental illness, and that can happen here. I don't always feel listened to or heard by SANE.

I'm not sure if I can speak so openly here, so am trying to be careful, but for me I'm not sure the forum has been a helpful thing. That said I almost never had an issue with the users here, who are very warm and funny and its good to even joke about this thing called mental illness.

But I felt the moderators didn't like me too much.

I feel like that sometimes as an NDIS participant too - I'm meant to just shut up and be "the participant" but when I try have ANY choice and control or an opinion people get their back up. I am mpressed by how strong everyone is to put in feedback, it can be hard to do. I tried as well to speak up and got a few very dismissivec responses, but after involving the HCC I had a bit more of a voice.

That said, I still didn't get comprehensive answers. To be honest, you all inspired me. I am at times a bit of a push over.
