Popping into this discussion thread to provide some updates and respond to some of the very valid concerns that’ve been expressed about the changes happening across SANE services including the Forums.
First up, we want to emphasise that no matter what, SANE Forums will always be a peer‑led space built on kindness, understanding, and respect.
We understand that changes to our moderation structures may currently feel uncomfortable, but please rest assured they’re being made with the very best intentions.
It won’t be a surprise to anyone that reviews have shown very clearly that the most powerful thing on our Forums are the voices and experiences of the Members and the connections made through peer to peer conversations.
The evolving Forum structure is designed to amplify and strengthen this focus on lived experience, whilst ensuring that everyone still feels comfortable to share and connect. This means SANE Forums are truly led by the community, for the community.
To our Peer and Community Guides - This thread has emphasised to us how some of you are feeling a little disengaged. We hear you! We’ll be reaching out to you directly to talk things through and make sure you feel you’re across what’s happening and part of the process.
To the broader SANE Forum community – We encourage you to please keep checking the Get Support page of the SANE website to stay across service updates.
And remember, we DO want to hear your feedback, questions and concerns and we DO read every single one. Please send these through to feedback@sane.org (or using the web form here).
Thanks so much for your honest feedback, your ongoing support of each other, and for helping make this space safe, respectful, and empowering.
