Something’s not right

Have we been forgotten about?

Have we been forgotten about?

It feels that way. No one (psw) is around anymore. Not much from moderators.

what use to be such a lively, welcoming and supportive safe space, is…. I don’t even know what words to use. It even seems that people don’t have to be recovery focused anymore.

what has happened????

Fingers crossed it’s able to be seen now @EternalFlower

Re: Have we been forgotten about?

@Flutterbug9 yes thats what i remembered - last resort, name calling/trolling.
I thought there was also something about racial or ableist slurs or something - i was sent these rules once I was banned and asked to chat with them to see if I wold like to come back.

For a time, I needed space as I was gettin ga lot of off-forums chats and I sent them to spam so I wouldn't get the "shock" of seeing them. I did reply, just not instanoulsy, but I never ignored any emails

Re: Have we been forgotten about?

I really struggle with the ‘tell the community what you need’ guideline @Flutterbug9 @EternalFlower

it is never an INTENTIONAL breach. I have had posts removed and emails sent and ban warnings given when I am having a conversation with someone, updating someone on something that has just happened. I don’t understand why there always needs to be a NEED. why can’t I just be sitting here having a conversation back and forth? Connecting. Why do I need to label it as connection? It’s so unnatural. And thus why I forget to do it. This is a mental health forum. If I’m sitting having a cuppa with a friend at home I don’t need to label every chat with something.
Again, NEVER intentional. And never to cause harm.
and I find that if it’s a moderator breaching you there is no assistance to get you back up and running. It’s, you did the wrong thing, post removed, fix it if you want it back and this is your ban warning. No care as a person. And on the odd occasion that it’s a psw, there is often no email and ban warning, they engage with you a human being on the forums to help you.
i had a post removed and email sent 7hr….. 7hrs after it was posted. Why? Why is it taking that long if that is the case? I reported a post for very obvious reasons and it took days for anyone to respond and then nothing done. Where is the duty of care and sense of safety when this happens?

Support button not working …… again.
I hear you @Bow @EternalFlower

I’ve had entire posts disappear couple hours after they have been viewable. Reply when I queried was they had been auto deleted by sane computer system, apparently as I had used word/s deemed not allowed by the program.

another time I shared photos of event I had gone to, photos which I had clearly stated had been taken by people who had attended the event in past years. Couple of photos were not viewable due to not being approved by a moderator as they had peoples faces in them.

when I was in hospital recently, and couldn’t logon due to the new login system, I sent an email asking for info to be recorded onto one specific thread. Email that sat unactioned for 4 days. Since then I’ve been left with unanswerable question, what if email had contained info that contained “safety concerns”. Could it have sat unactioned for the same amount of time??

I hear you @Bow regarding conversation aspect. An aspect of the forums I have enjoyed and found beneficial. Why should having general conversations on here with people you find a connection with be any different than conversations anywhere else? Why should posts only be about MH items? (2 rhetorical questions)

Re: Have we been forgotten about?

@Bow i fully hear you.

It is also a fair question why bans are acted so quickly, in minutes, over misunderstandings, and unintentional breeches (or in my case, fear of sane emails) but it takes forever to discuss serious safety concerns, confidentiality or other issues.

People are complex, they can have misunderstandings or feel triggered, especially with complex mental health involved. I think sane is more of a family business type thing, with great concern for the workers and teams, but us as connsumers, we are sort of just a side issue

I think sometimes the world is just money, nothing else. I jst need to vent on this.

Re: Have we been forgotten about?

Hi everyone,

We want to acknowledge the experiences shared in this thread and the care members have shown in supporting one another. As part of recent changes to our model, our staff play an active role in fostering community connection, supporting safe engagement, upholding guidelines, and stepping in where needed to maintain a respectful space.

We will now be closing this thread, as it is no longer supporting constructive, recovery-oriented discussion and doesn’t reflect the full range of member experiences. To maintain a safe and equitable space for all members and staff, we need to keep the Forums focused on connection and recovery.

We recognise that a very small number of members have been dissatisfied with the complaints process, and while we may not always be able to accommodate individual feedback or outcomes, we are listening and taking this on board to inform future design and improvements. We encourage members who wish to share feedback to continue doing so through the feedback and complaints process, and to engage respectfully to the team who manages it.

If you’re looking for more personalised support, you can access 1:1 support through Recovery Club.

Thank you for your understanding.
