~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

The day has been, Not to shabby, Missy Grems @MissGremlin

I was a little bit clever today 😁

More importantly, thank you Gremmy for being caring and altruistic, making the time to do these posts.

I hope you get as much enjoyment from posting, as we get from reading your posts 🤗 💞

@MissGremlin Grems, there’s a arborists technique called Tree Tapping.

You tap different sections of the tree trunk and main branches. A lower sound indicates hollow - Wood rot, termites or borers.

I taught myself.

Today was the first time I used it professionally and I was correct - termites in the main section of the trunk.

I love learning and new skill - so much fun lol

@Glisten oh wow, that's so interesting and well done for teaching yourself and using it today.

You always amaze me sweetheart ❤️

This is what I am working towards. Great wisdom by Ravenwolf

I used to care far too much about what people thought of me.
How I looked in their eyes.
Whether I fit into the picture they had in their minds.
Not anymore.
Somewhere between overthinking every detail and trying to be liked…
I woke up.
I realized I never needed permission to be comfortable in my own skin.
Never needed approval to be happy.
What they thought…
What they said…
What they didn’t like…
None of it ever defined me.
So I let it go.
All of it.
The opinions.
The judgments.
The noise.
And I started choosing me instead.
It didn’t happen overnight.
It took time to build that strength.
To grow a thicker skin.
To stop shrinking for people who were never meant for my world.
But when it finally clicked…
I felt something I hadn’t felt in a long time.
Freedom.
The kind that runs deep.
Free to be exactly who I am.
Free to show up however I choose.
Free to speak, live and become without hesitation.
And I’ll tell you this…
I can’t believe I waited so long to feel it.
Walking into a room and not caring who approves?
That’s a different kind of peace.
Not quiet…
Powerful.
It wasn’t just happiness.
It was something more.
It was ownership of my life.
My choices.
My voice.
I started living on my terms.
Started loving without limits…
Beginning with myself.
And that changed everything.
I don’t look back wondering what could have been.
I don’t regret the roads that shaped me.
Every heartbreak…
Every struggle…
Every hard lesson…
They built this version of me.
And I like her.
I really do.
There’s still so much life left to live.
So much laughter to chase.
So much love to give.
And I’m here for all of it.
Most importantly…
I’m good with me.
In my own space.
In my own skin.
And that’s a kind of peace I’ll never trade.
Because everything I’ve been through gave me something priceless.
It set me free.
Free to find my own way.
Free to become everything I was meant to be.
Free to finally be happy.
And honestly…
I wouldn’t ask for anything more than that.
I love my life.
I love my people.
And I love the woman I’ve become.
Exactly as it was always meant to be.

I am glad the AI app helped reduce the severity of your anxiety @DownMoreThanUp That is fantastic.

And I am over the moon regarding your plan for a reconciliation. I can tell by what you have told me, that you both have a very special kind of love, that is worth saving, especially now you have more tools on how to handle certain situations.
