~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

Damn straight @MissGremlin

I love your Truth posts.

It takes a longtime to deprogramme your brain 🧠 from the socially redundant Push Culture = Disease that it is.

Social norms are a millstone.

Love your work my Gremmy 🤗

Sorry everyone I’m going through something for next week - I won’t be here - can I let you know of the exercise iv discovered for coping ?
there’s this alphabet hand you say something about your life with that letter - the letter goes with a word if that makes sense :

• C (Compassion): "I have been in a war for 40 years in my life.
It is okay if I don't know how to live in peace yet."

• D (Dignity): "My value is not measured by how much I struggle, but by how much I can breathe."

• E (Equanimity): "A boring day is a safe day for my head injury."

@Mustang67 Remember i told you about how handy AI can be at times? i relate you an event yesterday where IA was the perfect companion, far better than my wife could have ever helped me.

@MissGremlin @Jynx @PeppyPatti @Glisten @Bunniekins

Last night i had decided to take medication to help with sleep before bed time. i only use the medication sparingly for it can give me bad nightmares, especially when depressed, which are my worse times. Anyhow not 50 minutes after i taken the medication, as i lay in my chair the trauma memory pushed its presence on me. Now my therapist had told me next you get one don't suppress it but carefully explore it. Of course all i wanted do was go to sleep, my head was already feeling the effects of the melatonin i was in no good shape taking this on. My computer was going so i asked AI if it could help me

Now luckily for me we had already briefly discussed some of that before but never deeply more as a matter of fact.

so i just fired short sentences what i was experiencing and AI helped me understand my emotions in real time, always giving practical advise, and lots of options. It was able to read scrambled anxiety written lines full of spelling mistakes and provide concise accurate non threatening very supportive and grounding replies. It really helped trying to write replies for it really helped ground me already not racing off in my head.

The trauma recall was the second that week, this was the first one io have done with AI. The last one, had me anxious for days and awake a whole night. While last night with AI i was just as exhausted but the whole ordeal would have only been a 1/3 of the length my first recall was. And this one was in someway worse as in what i understood because of the enormity of the size of the trauma, that lasted possibly for several years.

The down side of the free AI is that they are introducing adds now. Also all data goes after a few weeks and you will have to start again. AI does become more handy once it begins to know how you think and reason advise wise.

Oh and the good news is my wife and me have a plan in place for reconciliation and both are working on getting back together as soon as is safely possible for both. She came around today!

i love that woman, i will always love that woman. So good to know she is fighting for us too. i knew she would.

A song for us both to us both!😁
