~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

@ENKELI I think there was/is a SANE Forum Garden thread? @Jynx @Shaz51 can probably confirm?

Retiisi, honestly if you put MM on a leash, who would be leading? 😁

Imagine that big puff of fur front and centre of Funnings? BAHAHA

🤦🏼‍♀️ Numpty Nev 😏 Seems he has a grudge against the world.

Surprised he didn’t request a mote and Drawbridge.

If your home has light coloured brick and charcoal black window trim - Colorbond Monument.

It makes a BIG difference to the look of your property.

My Monday Landscape job - Red brick 🧱 house. White window trim - Colorbond Deep Ocean.

@PeppyPatti I too have lost muscle from all the time I have spent in bed because of my bouts of depression. It is now at the point where it affects my quality of life greatly. So, in about one months' time, I am making a change and getting the help that I need to strengthen the muscles in my arms, legs and back, so I can once again participate in life, instead of watching it from the sidelines.

I feel like I am currently existing and not living my life, like I should.

I am bursting with pride for you @Bunniekins and well done on the hard work that you have done so far, to get you where you are today. I am sure you will have more work to do, but now you know you can do this, so that should hopefully help make any doubts disappear.

@Glisten my house is light brick with either doeskin or magnolia - popular 90's window frame colours.

Now that you mention it, I am thinking I might request a drawbridge. And demand he pay half for it.

He's a muppet and can wait for me.

It will hopefully match the colorbond fence already in place.
The existing fence may be asbestos too - he claims it is and signs point to him being right in this instance but he has not shown any quotes for any of the work, just thrown sums at me. Yep, I'll bend over backwards for you mate. Not.

I plan on winning the MSWA lottery first prize of the 3.6 mill Shenton Park home so the fence won't be an issue soon 😁

Deep ocean sounds nice though. Is that K's house or another person who has discovered your amazing talents?

MM becomes one with the floor as soon as a harness is put on him. Although I wonder how he would go in the trolley if I were able to peel him off the bottom of the cat carrier and put him in it. I am tempted to try it but concerned it might traumatise his one brain cell.

I am thinking I need to [edited by moderator] to paternal family members. They've been giving me the sh*ts, time to repay their kindness.
Why do family hurt each other so viciously?

@Glisten there IS a garden thread but the one I was going to create was for members of my Sane garden. It doesn't matter. probably a dumb idea anyway.

This one from Ravenwolf hits home for me, as I have been at rock bottom and lost everything. And just like her, I had to look inwards before I could start to grow and start moving forward.
It’s quiet as the evening settles in around me.
But the darkness… it hasn’t really left me in a while.
Life has always pushed me to grow, to fight, to rise every time I’ve been knocked down.
And I always did.
No matter how hard it got… I got back up.
Not this time.
This time, when I hit rock bottom… I stayed there.
I fought it like I always do.
Clawed, pushed, burned with everything I had.
But something was different.
I didn’t rise.
I sank.
Deeper than I ever have before.
Everything unraveled at once.
My relationship.
My career.
My confidence.
Gone.
I thought I knew pain.
Thought I understood what it meant to lose.
I didn’t.
Not like this.
This kind of hurt… it brought me to my knees and kept me there.
No fight left.
No fire.
Just emptiness.
You’ve read my words before.
The strength.
The courage.
The rising against all odds.
This time… I had nothing.
Everywhere I looked, all I could see was darkness.
No answers.
No direction.
Just pain… and silence.
And alone in that place… I felt something I hadn’t before.
Hopelessness.
And that’s a dangerous place to be.
Because before, the world knocked me down.
People.
Circumstances.
Life.
This time…
It was me.
My choices.
My emotions.
My own unraveling.
And I didn’t know how to fight myself.
So I cried.
Not the kind of tears that inspire stories.
The kind that break you.
The kind that leave you lost.
I hit a low I didn’t know existed.
Lower than anything I had survived before.
And in that silence… something shifted.
I realized I had been looking in all the wrong places.
I lost my perspective.
Lost my truth.
Somewhere along the way… I forgot who I was.
And how I got here.
The change didn’t come all at once.
It never does.
But slowly…
Quietly…
The light started to find me again.
And I understood something I had forgotten.
Healing doesn’t come from outside.
It starts within.
With honesty.
With truth.
With facing yourself without excuses.
No more telling myself what I want to hear.
Only what’s real.
I don’t have it all figured out.
And maybe I never will.
But I’m moving again.
Forward.
One step at a time.
I’m turning the page.
Starting over.
Writing a new chapter.
With one simple truth…
I can...and I will.
