Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

Gentle Hugs for now, but walking with you. If we could meet you could crash on my couch. OUr place is very small, but bigger than I used to have. I am used to high density living. I hope you can find a solution that works with some security. Please let us know what is going on.

@Mustang67 i know you had went through the same thing but I'm glad you at least have somewhere to stay for now although the situation sounds very stressful.

I remember you saying about the credit card situation and I think it's ridiculous and unfair having to pay more because of that.

There's nothing that I can afford and I've tried every service possible. I've exhausted all options and there's just nothing that can be done.

Hello sweet @Appleblossom, do you remember this time last year I was in the same situation but when I had my Gremlin account? Then I had to have my account deleted and you kept posting in my thread still sending love and support which meant so much. Sadly this time things are different and there's no solution.

Honestly, all I did was prune out the crossover branches.

So going to buy a Reciprocating Saw.

@Appleblossom I'm still in the same place and have been for 10 years which is what makes this harder. Last year I was able to get someone to advocate for me to have the rent increase reduced but this year I'm out of luck 😞.

I love that picture and could get lost in it for hours just imagining actually being there, it looks so peaceful.

I am glad you had some stability for a few years @MissGremlin at least. Although a change could have benefits.

Is Anglicare or Uniting Care any help?

Can you get on a public housing list?

How much are they putting up the rent by?

@Appleblossom I've tried both and every other service possible but there's just nothing they can do.

Housing SA I've been on the wait list for over 15 years at category 2 but have been told I will never get offered a house cos "I can afford private rental" even though i can't.

They are putting it up by $70 a week. I'm only on the DSP and there's no way I can cover it 😞.
