Safe Now
I went and saw my psychologist yesterday. We talked about some of my trauma stuff in both yesterday’s session and the session before it. Now I am here today having to reassure myself that I am safe now!

Yes I found Beyond Now App and downloaded it. Filled out all the fields yesterday. They have teamed up with Lifeline for this app. Looks very good and I can email the details of my plan to people who are supporting me. I hope I won’t need it but SI is probably the worst thing that could happen with this trauma therapy

Awww @Oaktree .
Please speak you if you don't feel about to go through with it. Getting pushed is good for us sometimes, but you can't be pushed too much or it become harmful.
Is this therapy something you want to do right now? I'm mindful you are doing a lot of things at the moment. Is it too much?
Good on you for completing your safety plan.

It’s a tricky one. Now is probably not the best time due to Tafe but I have NDIS funding now and can not be guaranteed to get more funding for a psychologist next review. I guess there will never be a perfect time. I am ready to deal with the trauma because I have carried it around with me for 40 plus years. I need to put it behind me so that it does not affect my future. Navigating this space is just a little difficult

Thanks @tyme
There is not a lot I can share on here when I am struggling because it’s such a sensitive area. However I have all the numbers for the crisis lines. So far I haven’t made a call because it wasn’t a crisis, I just felt like talking to someone.

Yeah, I get that.
Would you consider calling SANE's Support Line tomorrow on 1800 187 263 (M-F 10am-8pm AEDT) So it will be available to you from around 8am? @Oaktree

I am ok now, it’s just the first 3 or 4 days after an appointment that I need more support. A bit unsure about calling support lines. I have only ever called Lifeline once so a bit fearful of the unknown. Yes I would consider calling Sane in the future but they are only there until 5pm my time.

Like you said, Lifeline will probably be quite 'cookie cutter' in that they ascertain that you are safe and move on @Oaktree . If you are not in crisis and feel you need an ear, I'd suggest SANE's support line.
You deserve it.
I hear this is an important time for you to get the support you need to work through some of these beasts.
Hugs @Oaktree . You are so brave.

Thanks Tyme,
I will try and call SANE next time. I just tend to struggle more at night.

Totally @Oaktree . I've never called SANE's support line, but I've heard they are pretty good (I know that sounds odd seeing I work here, but I actually don't know most of the people on the support line). SANE has grown exponentially so we are having more staff on phones all the times. And it is yet to grow more over the next three years due to the $27 mil funding grant.
I've worked on phones at SANE before, but it's absolutely NOT my cup of tea!
As for the evenings being harder, this is actually very normal because our brains I wired to over think at night for the purpose of survival.
I can keep you company for another hour or so if you want. Is your hubby there?
