Talking through trauma and PTSD

Running

Running

"Behind every strong person is a story that gave them no choice"

My life is all about a lack of choice.

I'm alive because death would've outed him, it would have sealed his fate in prison.

TW: cultic, rape, trafficking, torture

I'm the daughter of a Satanist...

One trained to breed...

One pregnant at 6 years old...

One prostituted to whoever could afford her...

The girl her dad didn't want...

One men hired to have fun with...

One men experimented with...

One who was tortured for speaking up...

One trained for the sole purpose to please her buyer...

Regardless of age...

Still though...

One who never stayed silent...

One who broke free... twice...

One who rose up...

One who seeks to prove them wrong...

One who has been running for 15 years...

One who just needs to feel heard...

One who went through hell and survived...

That this Phoenix can rise...

She will not be burned...

She's proven that...

I have proven that...

I'm 35 and 90% of those I've been in prolonged abusive situations insufficient evidence for prosecution

A system that protects the abuser more than the survivor

And yet I still try

I don't try for me, I try for the ones after me, the ones like me, that they will see their justice

But for now I run...

From a dad that wants me silenced...

From the nightmares that plague my sleep...

From the memories that invade my mind...

From the choices made for me...

Didn't expect that to come out as poetic as it did

Re: Running

@Jynx I'll find out tomorrow, I mentioned it to my elder and he said him and my deacon will get it sorted, I trust my elder, my deacon I'm not so sure about, he brings Delilah to church (the one who coercively controlled me for 9 months) and I don't like that.

Re: Running

@avant-garde I am glad you have your elder there to advocate for you hun, and hope the deacon plays nice. Totally legit to not feel trusting of someone who an abuser still has their hooks in, by the sounds of it.

May god ensure you're walking the best path for your journey hun, guess we shall see tomorrow 🤞

Re: Running

@Jynx my deacon and I had a really good relationship before she came along, really open and honest, that's what hurts though, that she destroyed that...

Re: Running

Aye absolutely @avant-garde like the opposite of Midas' Touch.... everything she touches turns to crap. That's really devastating hun, I'm so sorry.

You wanna keep chatting bout it? Sounds like the relationship with the deacon was important to you.... So I'm just checkin in on your emotional needs rn 😊

@avant-garde hmmm no time for sharing bigger thoughts, drat. Next time. 💜

Re: Running

@avant-garde ooo well if I did have some specific 'bigger thoughts' at the time, I think they have now evaporated. I can still share some reflections though!

I think there's a pretty big theme of 'not being believed' combined with 'being judged for how you handled it' - and the result is you having to somehow both psychoeducate and advocate, AND convince and defend, in the same statement/retelling? Absolutely horrific.

Would have been so hard, next to impossible even, to know who to trust, who could be a safe person...

@Jynx no one was safe...

@avant-garde *bundles you up into very big hug*

Oh hun, course you did. The part of you that wanted SO BADLY for you to no longer endure such pain and misery, was doing the only thing it felt it had left.

I am glad that you are still here darlin, you mean so much to all of us, and to the world 💜

@Jynx I don't understand how I could mean anything to anyone when the ones who were meant to love me didn't...

Re: Running

@avant-garde perhaps because your worth was not, and shall never be, dictated by those who are too blinded by selfishness to be able to see it. They will never receive the precious gift of your warmth, of your kind heart, of your true compassion. If they had done right by you, perhaps they would have, but they did not see you, they saw only what they could exploit.

Now, their misery probably lives on, but you? You have carved out delight, softness, and love for yourself, despite all they did. And just by sharing that here, you've brought so much worth, so much meaning to this community. I know for me, I always feel warmer having chatted to you. That is worth SO MUCH to me. So thank you 💜
