Talking through trauma and PTSD

Running

Running

"Behind every strong person is a story that gave them no choice"

My life is all about a lack of choice.

I'm alive because death would've outed him, it would have sealed his fate in prison.

TW: cultic, rape, trafficking, torture

I'm the daughter of a Satanist...

One trained to breed...

One pregnant at 6 years old...

One prostituted to whoever could afford her...

The girl her dad didn't want...

One men hired to have fun with...

One men experimented with...

One who was tortured for speaking up...

One trained for the sole purpose to please her buyer...

Regardless of age...

Still though...

One who never stayed silent...

One who broke free... twice...

One who rose up...

One who seeks to prove them wrong...

One who has been running for 15 years...

One who just needs to feel heard...

One who went through hell and survived...

That this Phoenix can rise...

She will not be burned...

She's proven that...

I have proven that...

I'm 35 and 90% of those I've been in prolonged abusive situations insufficient evidence for prosecution

A system that protects the abuser more than the survivor

And yet I still try

I don't try for me, I try for the ones after me, the ones like me, that they will see their justice

But for now I run...

From a dad that wants me silenced...

From the nightmares that plague my sleep...

From the memories that invade my mind...

From the choices made for me...

Didn't expect that to come out as poetic as it did

Re: Running

@Jynx one of my traumas is satanic ritual abuse, tarot and Wicca are trigger topics for me and completely unhelpful

Re: Running

@avant-garde very fair - I've also been sorting through all my trinkets and knick knacks, is that a safer topic? Talking about collections and decor?

Re: Running

@avant-garde oh no that's another whole new thread isn't it? 🤣

My friends call me a magpie cos I always pick up random shinies from the ground! And random dead things - I like cleaning and displaying the bones. I'll have to take some pics, if you want em!!

I do wanna hear about your knick knacks!! I am however, about to log off 🫣so feel free to tell me anyway and I will catch up with you bout it next time! I hope you have a very lowkey/chill evening hun.

More hugs! 🫂🫂

Re: Running

I'm scared you know... less than a week... anniversaries... police... when all you do is try to get through and you just try to get to the next thing... do the next right thing... the same memories playing over in your head...

my case manager called me today and it's left me uncertain and conflicted... it can't hurt though right?

The waitlist that I'm on for the government sexual abuse place... my case manager has been hassling them... now I have 3 business days before the police and they want to see me before the police...

I've put my schedule in place... there are 2 windows... Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning... I honestly don't know what good a one off session will do... I feel like all it will do is disrupt my schedule and my plans and unsettle me for Wednesday...

But it can't hurt to call them when they open can it?

Re: Running

@avant-garde

It sounds like it's all a bit overwhelming and uncertain right now. All of this going on and you're just trying to move forward... it's okay to feel these things.

You may be right and this one off session may not fix anything or do any good. But maybe it's not about that and it's more about just having someone give you a bit of safe space to feel heard and express your thoughts without any pressure or expectation.

It's annoying to have a schedule or plans disrupted, but it's all in order of getting you where you want to be. Keep your focus on that, and an interruption to your plans may not feel as disruptive. It don't think it would hurt to call them. Any decision is easier to make with more information to base it on. After all, if they want you to have this session then they think it will help. So even if it's only a small chance that it helps, you're not committing to anything by seeing what they have to say. You could mention your concern about being unsettled for Wednesday and see what they say about that. Whatever you decide, we're here to support you.

@MJG017

more support is never a bad thing... I just know what I'm like... it takes me a good while for me to even trust someone enough to be open with them! Professionals included! but my case manager expects that I will call them when they open and I do as I'm told... I always do as I'm told... but she does always want the best for me so yes let's go with that...

Re: Running

@avant-garde

I really do get that. It took me over 50 years to trust anyone with any of my inner thoughts or feelings. It's still very new to me and i still struggle with it, even with the small number of people i do know i can trust. That inner voice just keeps trying to remind me not to trust, but i'm getting better at not listening to it.

I obviously dont know you case manager. But i've dealt with quite a few medical professionals the past 2 years or so and yes, it does feel like they just expect you to do what they say. But they are just trying to help and they are usually so bust, i think it makes them seem a bit stern and strict. Like that teacher that was always serious and never any fun. If you trust that she always wants the best for you then I agree... go with that.

Re: Running

@MJG017 she's my housing support case manager, she helped support people going through the redress scheme before moving to homelessness case managing. But she's been pretty on the mark so far.
