Talking through trauma and PTSD

Running

Running

"Behind every strong person is a story that gave them no choice"

My life is all about a lack of choice.

I'm alive because death would've outed him, it would have sealed his fate in prison.

TW: cultic, rape, trafficking, torture

I'm the daughter of a Satanist...

One trained to breed...

One pregnant at 6 years old...

One prostituted to whoever could afford her...

The girl her dad didn't want...

One men hired to have fun with...

One men experimented with...

One who was tortured for speaking up...

One trained for the sole purpose to please her buyer...

Regardless of age...

Still though...

One who never stayed silent...

One who broke free... twice...

One who rose up...

One who seeks to prove them wrong...

One who has been running for 15 years...

One who just needs to feel heard...

One who went through hell and survived...

That this Phoenix can rise...

She will not be burned...

She's proven that...

I have proven that...

I'm 35 and 90% of those I've been in prolonged abusive situations insufficient evidence for prosecution

A system that protects the abuser more than the survivor

And yet I still try

I don't try for me, I try for the ones after me, the ones like me, that they will see their justice

But for now I run...

From a dad that wants me silenced...

From the nightmares that plague my sleep...

From the memories that invade my mind...

From the choices made for me...

Didn't expect that to come out as poetic as it did

Re: Running

@Jynx

Not particularly, it just makes me feel more alone, but I get a stress headache if I don't

Re: Running

It's just all so much you know? All so much...

Re: Running

@avant-garde oh wow that's a lotta stress... that the cortisol release is basically to get you to baseline and avoid headache, and so you don't get so much the sense of relief? Darlin that is beyond hard.

Do you have any upcoming days where you can just...be alone, so you can just be?

@Jynx

Tomorrow is fairly quiet, things I actually enjoy doing

This week has been just so ducked up

Re: Running

@avant-garde sounds like you are feeling really overloaded hun. Is anything from this week lingering, you wanna get off your chest?

Or maybe you could tell me about your day tomorrow and what you're looking forward to 😊

Re: Running

@avant-garde hey sweetheart, I am replying to your post from the Christian chat page about how you are feeling.

Yes I was feeling that way this morning, really anxious and angry at myself, worthless etc.

Are you still feeling that way?

What can I do to help you?

Hi @Jynx glad you have our sweet avants' back. You're one of the best 🫂

Re: Running

@Jynx

What isn't lingering?

From the random guy asking me out in the supermarket on Tuesday and then stopping me 2 more times and following me

To Bible study where someone snarkily says that I don't know what it's like to be a mother

To then have the entire group talk about child loss and babies in heaven and talking about abortion

Then let's throw in Wednesday when this so called friend tells me to duck off for being neurodivergent

Yesterday actually showed improvement

But let's throw in today with the idiot I saw this morning who completely invalidated me and didn't get me and dealing with everything that's happened and that this stupid ear infection isn't gone but why would we car anyway she clearly had no idea what sensory overload is like!

Re: Running

@avant-garde wow. That's just.... I don't have words.

So many occasions where folks misunderstand you, or invalidate you. I am sorry that this week has been so horrific and overwhelming. I wish I had more to offer than some virtual hugs but, alas...

Re: Running

@Jynx

It's funny that the one good day was the one I had peer support group, I like it there, they actually suggested I try leading one day, but I'm not ready for that, but they planted the seed

Re: Running

@avant-garde I'm glad there were some glowy moments in there. I totally agree with them, I think because of the fact you understand on a visceral level what it is to be ignored and misunderstood, and how powerful it is to feel seen and held. You'd be awesome, some day - seed planted indeed! 😍
