Talking through trauma and PTSD

Running

Running

"Behind every strong person is a story that gave them no choice"

My life is all about a lack of choice.

I'm alive because death would've outed him, it would have sealed his fate in prison.

TW: cultic, rape, trafficking, torture

I'm the daughter of a Satanist...

One trained to breed...

One pregnant at 6 years old...

One prostituted to whoever could afford her...

The girl her dad didn't want...

One men hired to have fun with...

One men experimented with...

One who was tortured for speaking up...

One trained for the sole purpose to please her buyer...

Regardless of age...

Still though...

One who never stayed silent...

One who broke free... twice...

One who rose up...

One who seeks to prove them wrong...

One who has been running for 15 years...

One who just needs to feel heard...

One who went through hell and survived...

That this Phoenix can rise...

She will not be burned...

She's proven that...

I have proven that...

I'm 35 and 90% of those I've been in prolonged abusive situations insufficient evidence for prosecution

A system that protects the abuser more than the survivor

And yet I still try

I don't try for me, I try for the ones after me, the ones like me, that they will see their justice

But for now I run...

From a dad that wants me silenced...

From the nightmares that plague my sleep...

From the memories that invade my mind...

From the choices made for me...

Didn't expect that to come out as poetic as it did

Re: Running

@avant-garde that's a really heavy thought hun. And I am so so sorry that your expression of your needs was ridiculed. That's so deeply unfair, and absolutely shameful behaviour on the nurses' part.

So rough having to work out exactly how much depth you're going to have to go into in order to get adequate care without also triggering yourself - and it's a roll of the dice if they'll be understanding or not.

Do you find it helpful to preface the conversation? I dunno, something like 'I know these stories will be intense and maybe sound unbelievable, but it would be very helpful for me if you could be open and understanding' or some such?

@Jynx

I tend to just tell them everything and deal with the aftermath because figuring out how much to tell us often just too hard and stressful

Especially everything going on right now

Re: Running

Fair enough @avant-garde - not ideal by any stretch. I wish there were an easier way, but alas I have not yet found it. Crying in almost all of my medical appts is pretty standard for me now hey.

Truly, I am sorry that you have been through such a nightmarish experience. You deserve care, kindness, patience, and understanding, not disbelief and ridicule.

I shall have to bid you goodnight. I hope overall you're feeling a little better? If not, I wish you very speedy recovery my dear. Enough to be able to enjoy some sunshine over the weekend 🤞💜

Haha we just posted 10 seconds apart @avant-garde!

Totally a legit one to be bringing up all sorts of uncomfortable and scary feelings hun. What do you usually do to weather this emotional storm? Much hiding under blankets seems like a good option to me...

@Jynx

My brother and his mum and I go to some random botanic garden each year

Tomorrow is different though, the visiting minister didn't get permission to fly home last week after a health scare and he is the happy family preacher type and I don't know if he's preaching tomorrow yet.

If he is in not going because it's hard enough with a clued in minister let alone one who doesn't acknowledge abuse happens in the church and so doesn't think it needs to be spoken about.

@ArraDreaming

Hey, I like going to the gardens because my brother's dad was a donkeys butt too

I'll be glad when it's over

Partly for the clearance tools and stuff that I tend to enjoy

Partly so I can stop feeling like burning displays and getting angry
