Talking through trauma and PTSD

Running

Running

"Behind every strong person is a story that gave them no choice"

My life is all about a lack of choice.

I'm alive because death would've outed him, it would have sealed his fate in prison.

TW: cultic, rape, trafficking, torture

I'm the daughter of a Satanist...

One trained to breed...

One pregnant at 6 years old...

One prostituted to whoever could afford her...

The girl her dad didn't want...

One men hired to have fun with...

One men experimented with...

One who was tortured for speaking up...

One trained for the sole purpose to please her buyer...

Regardless of age...

Still though...

One who never stayed silent...

One who broke free... twice...

One who rose up...

One who seeks to prove them wrong...

One who has been running for 15 years...

One who just needs to feel heard...

One who went through hell and survived...

That this Phoenix can rise...

She will not be burned...

She's proven that...

I have proven that...

I'm 35 and 90% of those I've been in prolonged abusive situations insufficient evidence for prosecution

A system that protects the abuser more than the survivor

And yet I still try

I don't try for me, I try for the ones after me, the ones like me, that they will see their justice

But for now I run...

From a dad that wants me silenced...

From the nightmares that plague my sleep...

From the memories that invade my mind...

From the choices made for me...

Didn't expect that to come out as poetic as it did

Hiya @avant-garde!!

I am truly sorry I missed the anniversary date. By the time I realised I would be absent it was too late to let you know.

I will write up a response over on the thread at some point too.

But how are you?

@Jynx

My inner child has the strong desire to step on your foot and give you a piece of her mind for hurting me. She also wants to set the plushie trebuchet on you but figures you might actually enjoy that.

I'm dreadfully inclined to agree with her but also inclined to disappear for the fact that I felt told off for being concerned and "needing attention" and not just interacting with others online when I want to talk instead of tagging PSW's.

Re: Running

@avant-garde hello hun.

I've not forgotten you, and not trying to ignore you. Just been sitting on how I want to respond. It's important to me that I am responding from a place of grounded honesty, not reative emotionality. Hope you can understand 🙏💜

I will respond tonight not to worry! Just working on some other stuff in the bg at the moment for Pride Month 😉

Re: Running

@Jynx

You know me well enough to know what I'm thinking.

I've been sitting on this story for two weeks now though and I'm done waiting.

I had Bible study a few weeks ago and had fun ruffling feathers. We're doing this course to encourage evangelism and the topic came up about the outcasts that Jesus associated with and I asked the question of who would Jesus consider the outcasts now. I mentioned the reactions I'd received from various others in my denomination that I had solid friendships and relationships with people in the LGBTQ community and there are some very staunch old Christians in our group who are of similar opinion to the disapproving ones. Our facilitator mentioned that we can't be certain that there were LGBTQ people back then, but that wasn't the point I was making, it's that we need to be friends and include them to have a greater hope of reaching them. Jesus meets people where they're at and so should we. They then shut up and the facilitator progressed in the study.

Ok, now I can be patient

Re: Running

Snaps @avant-garde that is SO amazing. Thank you for standing up too!

Hey do you want to be tagged in Pride Month threads this month, as an ally? Be happy to include ya!

Re: Running

@Jynx

I don't know, I can respect and accept people's varying genders but I can't say that I agree with it. To be an ally kind of tells people that I agree with it.

Kind of been reluctant to say that to you

Re: Running

Understandable that you would feel hesitant @avant-garde. More than happy to discuss it with you, my experiences and what I know of biology and gender... however I have no need to, if that makes sense. I don't feel an urge to convince you of my identity, if you don't agree with my experiences of myself that's so fine. Up to you.
