Talking through trauma and PTSD

Running

Running

"Behind every strong person is a story that gave them no choice"

My life is all about a lack of choice.

I'm alive because death would've outed him, it would have sealed his fate in prison.

TW: cultic, rape, trafficking, torture

I'm the daughter of a Satanist...

One trained to breed...

One pregnant at 6 years old...

One prostituted to whoever could afford her...

The girl her dad didn't want...

One men hired to have fun with...

One men experimented with...

One who was tortured for speaking up...

One trained for the sole purpose to please her buyer...

Regardless of age...

Still though...

One who never stayed silent...

One who broke free... twice...

One who rose up...

One who seeks to prove them wrong...

One who has been running for 15 years...

One who just needs to feel heard...

One who went through hell and survived...

That this Phoenix can rise...

She will not be burned...

She's proven that...

I have proven that...

I'm 35 and 90% of those I've been in prolonged abusive situations insufficient evidence for prosecution

A system that protects the abuser more than the survivor

And yet I still try

I don't try for me, I try for the ones after me, the ones like me, that they will see their justice

But for now I run...

From a dad that wants me silenced...

From the nightmares that plague my sleep...

From the memories that invade my mind...

From the choices made for me...

Didn't expect that to come out as poetic as it did

Re: Running

@avant-garde oh, yes I did! I have been doing the wrestlemania with insomnia over the weekend so my usually slow pace is now even snailier than ever.

Does anyone see worth in a little girl who is done trying.

Oh but of course I do hun. And I know I would not be alone in that. I know those messages of your value being tied to how useful you were, of how worthless you were, they were repeated over and over. So maybe it'll help to hear the opposite over n over. Happy to keep reminding you any time you need ~

You are wonderful, whole, and worthy, exactly as you are 💜

@Jynx

I'm over my friends place with her family so that's ok

She's the one with the dog

This is from one of my favourite books, the story of a man's journey to become chivalrous, helping young women escape trafficking

Priceless by Luke and Joel Smallbone

“She’d been lied to and forced into the same … situation you’re in.”

“Against her will. Men decided she was worth a certain price …”

“I fell in love with that woman. And to me, she is worth more than all the money in the world.”

“You have that same worth inside of you,”

“You’ve been taught to talk and dress”

"and act like you’re cheap"

“But we think … no, Kelli, we believe there’s a God who knows exactly what you’re worth …”

“God knows that you’re priceless,”

Re: Running

@avant-garde yes! I like this.

I think a lot about love, and unconditional love in particular. How we are so often conditioned to believe that love is scarce, that we can only give so much of it away and can't love anyone else if we do. Pffffft.

But love IS all there is. Because god is all there is, and god is made of love. Every time I try to find a limit to my love I fail. It doesn't exist.

When you can feel this infinity inside, you know your worth, because you are experiencing it within that love. How can anyone think that a price could be put upon a human body, mind, or soul, when it has all the inifinities of god's love inside?
