Something’s not right

I don’t like feeling obliged to explain

I don’t like feeling obliged to explain

I had a rough call from uni today, I essentially felt blamed for not getting my driver licence already since I’ve been in this course for a while (it makes finding placements harder). I just put it as my circumstances made it hard without elaboration, then she said “right”. I felt judged. Am I a failure for suffering from migraines (migraines can cause mild vision disturbances along with poor concentration, it means I am more likely to speed) and MH? I didn’t explain because it’s my personal life. The placement I turned down in May wouldn’t have been good for my MH either, even if it wasn’t for the distance, vicarious trauma and personal trauma still stings. Now I am looking at getting into a placement that will hopefully be less psychologically demanding. Though no confirmation received yet, I haven’t had the interview

Hi @creative_writer

Re: I don’t like feeling obliged to explain

@Former-Member, I already had dinner and put the leftovers in the fridge for lunch. I’m not following MasterChef this year, I hope you are enjoying it.

What are you having for dinner?

I’ve just been winding down through prayer. My anxiety gets worse if I don’t do my daily routine of prayers

Hi @creative_writer

Woolies had 1/2 price chicken kiev.

Cheap and yummy

I like Masterchef because they are all nice to each other. And the judges seem to help too.

I pray when l am in bed.

I hope wind down as that is my goal too

Re: I don’t like feeling obliged to explain

@Former-Member, chicken kiev sounds nice, it’s a bonus it was half price! MasterChef contestants are really sweet to each other, unlike my kitchen rules, I don’t know if that’s been cancelled.

I hope you can take it easy. I think I’m going to have dessert, or a snack. I don’t think yoghurt is a proper dessert. I wish we had strawberries, I love putting my own strawberries into yoghurt

Hi @creative_writer

Thinking about the post l also have trust issues.

I think many will.

But we have to focus on those we can trust.

See My Kitchen Rules l used to like, but in the end there was no trust. A lot of scheming. Contestants scoring to win, not on what they ate.

So l trust the Masterchef contestants and judges.

I do not associate with those that show they cannot be trusted.

But l see Warnie is on. So l watch 9 and 10.

Desert. Two fruits with warm custard. Yummy

Re: I don’t like feeling obliged to explain

@Former-Member, that is true. I feel like it was more about drama than cooking in MKR. I feel like you grow so much more when you support each other

@Shaz51, do you watch MasterChef too? I used to watch it

Re: I don’t like feeling obliged to explain

Hi @creative_writer

We do grow "better" when we support each other and find people we can trust.

But we also grow resilience with others.

We grow self control and self awareness either way.

The main thing is there are plenty of people we can trust. And many we cannot trust.

We learn and grow from both

What is for dinner?

Re: I don’t like feeling obliged to explain

@Former-Member, I know we have to trust some people (as long as they are trustworthy). You know PTSD, it tries to convince you the world is too dangerous that you might as well live under the covers, it’s hard to break free from that hyperviligiance. I know I can’t blame my mum for the anxiety I feel, but I wouldn’t be so triggered if I wasn’t on guard, if I was living a relaxed but moderately cautious life, I wouldn’t be so affected by her words, and wouldn’t feel so overly paranoid about who to trust. However, I allow the shattered pieces inside me to dedicate my life .

I think we might be having lamb and vegetables. How about you?

Hi @creative_writer

Rice and meat sauce.

I cook but a friend is a chef and cooks a lot of yummy food so my freezer is full.

Lamb is nice.

Hope you enjoy your dinner
