I had a rough call from uni today, I essentially felt blamed for not getting my driver licence already since I’ve been in this course for a while (it makes finding placements harder). I just put it as my circumstances made it hard without elaboration, then she said “right”. I felt judged. Am I a failure for suffering from migraines (migraines can cause mild vision disturbances along with poor concentration, it means I am more likely to speed) and MH? I didn’t explain because it’s my personal life. The placement I turned down in May wouldn’t have been good for my MH either, even if it wasn’t for the distance, vicarious trauma and personal trauma still stings. Now I am looking at getting into a placement that will hopefully be less psychologically demanding. Though no confirmation received yet, I haven’t had the interview

Does anyone else feel lonely even with family and some friends? I'm not meant to feel lonely when I have people. I always feel like an outsider, even when I am home. Being lonely isn't only about not having people, it hurts more when you still lonely even when you have people around you

Hey @creative_writer ,
How are you? It seems like it's been a long time since we last spoke.
I don't think it's uncommon to have feelings of loneliness even when around people. I know for a fact that I have felt that way many times. So much so that I ended up just withdrawing because I felt the same around and not around people.
I think it took a long time before I felt okay being around people. Where there's less of that feeling of loneliness.
What are meaningful activities you can engage in?

Hi @creative_writer
Maybe your question is good to start a new post.
Does anyone else feel lonely even with family and some friends?
@tyme responded.
Do you feel like starting that as a new forum?
Interesting

Re: I don’t like feeling obliged to explain
Hi @tyme, I hope you are doing well.
I honestly find the loneliness of not connecting with people worse than just being alone and lonely. I’m not afraid of being alone, I’m afraid of not connecting with people. It’s so weird and hard to explain it. I just can’t realistically live alone in a cave. A part of me wishes to have my own space and freedom and I could just be my authentic emotional self with no questions. I don’t feel like I can be emotional in front of people, I feel like most people don’t know what to do with those intense emotions, I can’t blame them, I can’t ask them to emotionally support me. I’ve been fending for myself since I was a kid and dealing with stuff alone. Maybe sometimes I seem distant from people when I am around them, but I guess I’m trying to protect myself. Socialising is hard for someone who is neurodivergent, always getting sensory overload. My emotions often feel so abnormal, like I’m making social norms in my head, being emotional never sits as being socially acceptable to me.
I think for tonight I need some dinner, might try winding down with some prayer. I have placed my amber glasses on my face, the light was really hurting my eyes, feels more bearable

Re: I don’t like feeling obliged to explain
Hi @creative_writer
Maybe just use the question you asked.
Instead of
"I dont feel obliged to explain"
Use what you said.
Also great to see you @tyme
I thought you hibernated for the winter
