New puppy new life new Thread.

New puppy new life new Thread.

Both Cookie and I had a big day today. Me getting the house, supplies, space ready and really very anxious about new responsibilities of being a puppy mum. Cookie with travel strange place and being left here by her family.

We had cuddles for a while till she was less anxious her heart was racing. Then I encouraged her to explore a bit with some treats. She is now having a doze in her crate next to me and all seems right with the world. I think I could nearly doze too.

The constant hyper alert status my body has been in seems to have mellowed. I didn't know how bad it had gotten till it went.

I'm sure things will keep going up and down but I haven't felt calm in a very long time.

hi @Gillie1

You may find a hot foot bath with Epsom salts in the water very supplementary to your bipedal ways..?

And stretching the hammies... simply sit on the rug there, with Cookie. Straighten the legs, and slowly lean forward. See if you can touch your toes?.. 🙏💛

Lol I can't remember the last time I touched my toes. Nice idea though. It's more my hips, knees and weight that is the issue.

But I'm picking up some hair clippers today I'll be able to loose a kilo instantly 🙃

That should make all the difference lol.

Re: New puppy new life new Thread.

My thoughts for the day.

"This book was written using 100% recycled words"

Pratchett

Recycled words recycled thoughts recycled experiences. Recycled lives.

Sometimes I forget while everyone's experiences are unique in one sense, there's very little new in the world. My experiences aren't unique, my social fear isn't unique. Everyone on here experiences pain loneliness fear loss grief or trauma. Many on here struggle to get the support they need to build a life worth living.

Most on here have been let down, misunderstood, damaged dismissed or had their pain ignored.

I actually have things good right now in regards to supportive people around me. Yes I would like more stability in my support and I am working on that but others have been through this and will do again.

I am not alone in my pain. It's been great hearing others experiences on here and finding others going through such intense situations and emotions Not that it is great others feel such pain but I have felt so alone in my pain for so long.

There is nothing new in the world, life cycles for all of us up and down, good and bad,

The most powerful idea of these forums is we are not alone and our pain though different in origin or presentation is not in essence unique.

BTW

Cookie and I got to the tobacconist and the chemist by ourselves today. Cookie was very brave I'm proud of her.

After a discussion on hope and possibilities,

I went through my meme folder and found this one.

Re: New puppy new life new Thread.

This one resonates with me today. I don't think I'm saying it to any one person more to my past I think.

The secret is not to dream," she whispered. "The secret is to wake up. Waking up is harder. I have woken up and I am real. I know where I come from and I know where I'm going. You cannot fool me any more. Or touch me. Or anything that is mine.

Just recovering from another fishing expedition.

Spent the first half of my meltdown trying to work out what I did wrong but I did nothing wrong.

I'm so exhausted. fed up. I need help now more than ever in part because of so called support workers. I don't need this.

If having support means more of this it isn't worth it. I'll find cookie a good home and make do.

I'm ending this thread because people will obviously not let me build something new. Stupid hope.
