Re: I need to talk

I think about how good it would be talk to my other 4 children and to be able to have time with my grandchildren. If there is anyone here in a similar situation please message me here

Re: I need to talk

Hi @Leeanne1 ,

I don't think I have seen you around on the forums before, but I just came across your thread here. I hope it's OK to introduce myself a bit and reach out to you?

I don't have children myself, but I do know what it feels like to miss people and feel lonely. I think grief from moving away from friends (when I was very young) is what triggered my depression initially. I missed them so much, and didn't feel connection with people in my new location which made it even worse.

I noticed you also mentioned low motivation. I have a BIG challenge with this too. I've had quite severe and chronic anhedonia (lack of ability to experience enjoyment/positive) for as long as I remember, and not experiencing positive/reward from doing things? Yep, that's a big recipe for low motivation for me.

It's OK if you don't wish to chat to me about these things, if you prefer the Peer Support Workers and mods.

But I want you to know that you are not alone in these feelings, and I am more than willing/happy/wanting to chat to you about them if you would also like to. Please do tag me (using the @ and my username, @AlwaysMyself , to make sure I see your post - as sometimes I only look at where I am tagged because I get too many notifications sometimes) if you would like to. 😊

Take care; thinking of you.

@AlwaysMyself

Thank you for messaging me back . I feel alone because I miss my family it can. Be very hard especially when they won't speak because their father turned them against me before he passed away last year. I would love to meet my grandchildren I have 5 I've met 3 but not the other 2. I hate talking about it most of the because it does upset me 😞

Re: I need to talk

That would be very hard and upsetting @Leeanne1 . Missing them is very understandable. Do you think now that their father has passed away and no longer there to say negative things about you they may 'soften' their perspective towards you over time? (Even if it takes a slow and gradual process?)

Do you have any contact with any of the family at all? Are they your only child?

(Wondering if there are opportunities to slowly show openness and care indirectly...?)

I know of people who have had their children turn from them and thus also tell the grandchildren negative things and not have a relationship with the grandparents. But have seen sometimes that as the grandchildren been young adults and have independence and they see their parents controlling and negative behavioural patterns, they start to realise that maybe it wasnt the grandparent who was the "problem" (as they were told) and reach out to connect with them. I have seen it a few times.

I wonder whether @PeppyPatti or @Appleblossom have any advice?

From memory you have both had experience with family conflicts, but please forgive me if i am incorrect and misremembering.

Dear @Leeanne1

@have you been on sane forums before @Leeanne1 I have this feeling you’ve been here before and I was enjoying talking to you and apologies if I’m wrong.

@Leeanne1 im so glad @AlwaysMyself @tagged me.

im on another thread, I urge you to check it out. I think it’s called tabular just a tic I’ll find out …….

it’s called Tabaluga's

but I’ll try and find you too.
@Leeanne1 I really really care. Even when my ex husbands family were behaving like pork chops I never stopped my two adult children from seeing them. My ex husband made his own bed, they both chose to walk away.
that means when my two adult children do contact them, I get abusive messages from them. No one is right in this situation even me.

@PeppyPatti

To abuse someone is not right. After my husband got dementia he turned nasty . He told my children things that wasn't true 😞. When my youngest was 12 months I put them in care and I regret it. I haven't forgiven myself. I've been grieving them

Re: I need to talk

It's ok @Leeanne1

this has been my life for many years - I felt pummelled down by life.
sometimes I still do. I sort of have recognised - weirdly - that

many women are going through same.
its devastating.
may I sit with you ?

@Leeanne1

Over here in Western Australia, it’s about 3:50 pm.
do you like a nice cup of tea @Leeanne1 ??

☕️ I’m asking this because I heard we are all social beings. Is there anyway, if you feel like it tomorrow morning

walk around the block ? Are you ok to manage that ?
@AlwaysMyself @RadAcceptance20 @Sunflowersage @Cappuccino_75 dating dillema

what I ask you is something I’m attempting to do myself. I could only do half the block today, this morning.
