Welcome and getting started

Trying makes it worse

Trying makes it worse

Hi,

I'm EternalFlower and I've been feeling completely overwhelmed, sad, and pessimistic.

I've tried and been a responsible patient and person, reaching out to various services when I started feeling scarily anxious and suicidal, 2 years back..

My Dr is new, a young guy who regularly admits he's inexperienced, and aside from some good jokes, he actually does very little

I notice how easy it is to blame myself that I don't feel better, a total shame spiral, but I wander if my treatments just are bad....

I wanted to chat and hear anyone and hope I can use this space to help not feel so alone.

Thanks xxx EternalFlower

Re: Trying makes it worse

My latest thing stopping me walking is ache around back of arch/right heel @maddison

I can't take anti inflammatories as have to take blood thinners . I used to have good walking shoes. Used thongs last few years but can't anymore now looks like

Re: Trying makes it worse

Hi @Appleblossom

Sounds lovely re good chats and good people around, u must be very friendly and open

It is great that u have fun activities lined up to look forward to. And I would also love the forest setting, it is great u get to go.

@TAB footware is a thing that annoys me as well, I can never find comfy shoes and am always between sizes. I wear square toed boots a lot with a heel, and don't have runners. I'm super unfit as well.

In hospital I wear kmart crossover slippers, which were maybe 8 dollars? I felt guilty how cheap they were haha.

@maddison nice u stuck around. Online is so different and I wander sometimes how much it is ok to share. But we trust and try together, I guess.

Re what u wrote earlier about living alone vs with Ur housemate, thank u for sharing, can see how it's only in minority of times that Ur hm doesn't trust u due to what he experiences. It made me think of how every so often I get upset at my friend for not understanding what it's like for me, but it's more that I just feel so heavy in myself and that no one can get me. It's not really about her. It is nice that u see Ur house mate as who he is most of the time.

My Dr seemed to be trying to say he wants to help me and he cares. I told him I had a standard for my care, I want to not feel like I have no rights. A recent incident made me feel like he's too busy and I don't matter. It hurt.

He said that the reality is there aren't appointments for the next few months but he himself went into the books and made me appointments all through 2023 so it doesn't happen again.

Re: Trying makes it worse

um kmart hard to find stuff, local one after moving very congested and no range, will find something somewhere, should get off butt and go 13 ks down road to better shopping centre

um easter 2021 had blodd clots in lungs, nearly died, was found by accident, then with all scans and poking and prodding they discovered potential thyroid problem, eventually they tried to do biopsy, results were inc.lonclusive, so am getting half the is growing for whatever reason removed @EternalFlower had my head around it like at beginnning of year it got out to 4x ideal wait period, think am getting op cos had a moan about it to some other dr few weeks ago ..I dont really believe in conicidences .. anyhoo .. lol so prob 1-2 nights in hosp

Re: Trying makes it worse

I was just thinking today about everything happening for a reason @TAB

I hope it is ok and the hospital stay is smooth

Kmart isn't so long lasting but it can be good to try stuff out. That would be a hard thing to motivate to travel so far. Do they open evenings? There's some kmarts open til midnight so I go at night. I have started to like driving at night

Something funny or maybe terrible today the dr said was that he never claimed to be nor advertised as trauma informed. That's not his thing. Feels funny because I thought all drs wanted to be trauma informed! @maddison @Appleblossom @TAB @tyme @Former-Member

Re: Trying makes it worse

yeah most places open later, ok Mall I am thinking prob to 6 or 7pm @EternalFlower I could prob get away with what I have, but would rather something newer. I had a quick lokk, most things sold out as expected, will find something or prob have something that will do, just a top maybe then

Nfi re trauma informed or why someone would say that sorry.

Oh that's difficult @TAB re heel pain, & unable to take anti-In. I hope you can take pain relief at least I wonder if it from the thongs? Well, they probably not helping.. I try to wear Birkenstock sandals for around house. Again, overpriced, they will last forever. It's really the healthiest footwear imo.

I have more suggestions - sorry if they are rubbish, or I'm being annoying. (It's the nurse in me)

Maybe one of those under desk bikes could be good for when it's difficult to walk. Have you seen the infomercials📺? Cubii is like $350.. There are a few for around $50 on Google eg.

Here's diet info about increasing omega 3s to lubricate knees.

Consuming healthy fats can increase joint health and lubrication. Foods high in healthy fats include salmon, trout, mackerel, avocados, olive oil, almonds, walnuts, and chia seeds. The omega-3 fatty acids in these foods will assist in joint lubrication.

Finally, maybe home remedies you can try to reduce pain etc.

Obviously check with your dr before taking any supplements.

Sorry re 'old age'. It's not fair!!!! And I'm not looking forward to it😔

👍✌️
