Welcome and getting started

Trying makes it worse

Trying makes it worse

Hi,

I'm EternalFlower and I've been feeling completely overwhelmed, sad, and pessimistic.

I've tried and been a responsible patient and person, reaching out to various services when I started feeling scarily anxious and suicidal, 2 years back..

My Dr is new, a young guy who regularly admits he's inexperienced, and aside from some good jokes, he actually does very little

I notice how easy it is to blame myself that I don't feel better, a total shame spiral, but I wander if my treatments just are bad....

I wanted to chat and hear anyone and hope I can use this space to help not feel so alone.

Thanks xxx EternalFlower

Re: Trying makes it worse

Hey @Former-Member that is very cute to read about your dog. I can see in my minds eye him? bumping into things. Maybe he is a puppy, who doesn't realise how quick he is growing?

I have a healthy respect for dogs, almost fearful. I am not comfortable around dogs I don't know. I think they can read my fear & then I worry, they may attack me because I am giving out wrong energy. It's one of those silly cycles!

When I do get the chance to get close with a dog - they steal my heart💖.

Similarly to you, (& cats) my living circumstances don't accommodate a dog. Yes, I believe dogs have lots to give us humans🙂

That's a funny connection that we both created mandalas.. I found it interesting combining geometry & art. Haha! Yes I thought exactly the same thing about buying a compass (I didn't end up buying one) the thought took me right back to high school maths!

I think your book of monsters is so interesting. It must be a fun moment when you see what they end up looking like. The YouTube tutorials are great - I feel proud of the finished piece, however - when I create from my own place (abstract or anything!) I personally consider that to be true art. And really as priceless as any famous piece. Peace.✌️

Re: Trying makes it worse

It's really basic @tyme

I bought these Mungyo Soft Pastel 64 Colour Set Square Chalk$24.45 from Amazon

And used this tutorial

It's like a magic trick! Looks effective. Having said that, it took me all day because I'm a beginner.

Hey @maddison

I think you hit the nail on the head with the pieces that come from within that make a truly artistic piece. Aren’t in any form is an expression.

And yes, I like my compass for art, but definitely not to maths 😂….. it was not one of my great subjects at school.

what did you get up to today?

Hi @maddison @Former-Member

Thanks for the tips, I'll try those AHS seasons. I am really enjoying everything in the seasons and all from Ryan Murphy. Coven does have lovely female characters and depth @maddison . In the Watcher as well just in first few minutes u see so many strong women over 50 or so talking and taking centre stage.

Loved the art, Ur very talented.

Hope ur doing well @TAB and knees aren't too painful. I'm sorry Ur in pain.

I saw my cm today and had phone session with my psych. He told me he is committed to helping me and wants to be there for me and keeping helping me, he said he does say no and terminate wirh clients but he wants to help me and I should know he isn't going to terminate me. He said because i had fears of being discharged prematurely.

Hi @Appleblossom how has Ur week been?

@maddison I did not know ud been using this servif3 just 6 months that is fairly new! I love having ppl here who have been around for longer and shorter, I guess it shows ppl do like the service here.

Re: Trying makes it worse

Hey @Former-Member I've been thinking more about your monster book. I can see it from opposing perspectives.

I am considering drawing a monster, although I'm scared of what will come out on the page.

I guess another way to look at it - is that monsters are in the eye of the beholder. Perhaps a monster is really a part of me that is unloved. I'm only really thinking of this as I write.

I would like to share another one with you. This is fairly old work. It's what I call abstract.

I would be interested in seeing your drawings if you want to share! That would be great.

Absolutely - expression is art. Doing make-up, painting nails, laying bricks, appreciating silence... All art 🎨 ❤️😊

(I'm procrastinating, because sharing something that came from me - is a big deal to me)

Please enjoy❤️

Re: Trying makes it worse

Its been flat out @EternalFlower Thanks for asking.

Rehearsals, networking, guerilla gardening, AGM, Aerobics and dance, and still busy til next Tues when I can have a day off.

Had 2 lovely chats today. One with a neighbour and her 3 yo granddaughter, who was absolutely gorgeous, and another convo with a group of Vet students on the train. Found out a fellow I knew died cos they googled him. He was my age, so sad, last saw him at his brother's funeral a few years ago. The 4 vet students were gorgeous too.

So I guess I am pretty good atm, better than fair to muddling. I do not like to get too confident, but I have some great things lined up, so one step at a time. Going to a forest with a bunch of people to do music tmrw.

Good to see you folk all connecting.

Re: Trying makes it worse

Hi @EternalFlower & @TAB

Yep, I really have only been active on here since about January I think.

I did use the service years before that. I might be a member for 8? Years. It was really a desperate time & I needed to vent very badly. I'm not a big fan of online communication, therefore, I avoided coming back too much.

I think that now, I've finally accepted that online is ok. It's very convenient. Obviously, in person is better - this is the future of seems!!

It must have been reassuring to hear that from your psych. Did it make you feel more at ease? Open communication is so important, & it sounds like they are doing a good job & trying to connect with you.

TY for the art complements x

I have no idea what this Watcher is that I'm hearing about..I will need to Google! It sounds powerful!

Sorry to hear about your knees @TAB I'm terrible with pain. It can be so mentally draining. Do you take any type of anti-inflammatory. I'm not good at walking, mainly due to being unfit. The best shoes I have ever tried are called Adidas Ultraboost. They are ridiculously $$$. If you go on the Adidas website, they often have sales of last year's stock. I paid $70 for mine (RRP $300😱) I was so surprised they made walking easier & I could walk further. Xx
