Welcome and getting started

Trying makes it worse

Trying makes it worse

Hi,

I'm EternalFlower and I've been feeling completely overwhelmed, sad, and pessimistic.

I've tried and been a responsible patient and person, reaching out to various services when I started feeling scarily anxious and suicidal, 2 years back..

My Dr is new, a young guy who regularly admits he's inexperienced, and aside from some good jokes, he actually does very little

I notice how easy it is to blame myself that I don't feel better, a total shame spiral, but I wander if my treatments just are bad....

I wanted to chat and hear anyone and hope I can use this space to help not feel so alone.

Thanks xxx EternalFlower

I'm ok. Bit tired and sad at times but tomorrow I hope can be better.

I am trying to get an appointment for this week but having trouble with ny psychiatrists receptionists, tomorrow my friend is going to try and call on my behalf. It's nice having someone help out.

Hey @EternalFlower

Sadness can be hard, but often it can also be a way to sense out genuine connections, rather than with over the top hypy types. I am drawn more to people who have that depth, rather than too much froth and bubble. Though I can get bubbly at times, it is not all the time and not at others discomfort.

@TAB 'No can do' park in same spot in our mall. It had a makeover and there is a lot over excitedness about shopping there now. Eye roll. I hate it.

Re: Trying makes it worse

sometimes I hate being 'Right' but no sane person can say people as a whole are better off than 30-40 years ago eg developments that make things Worse , wage cuts, house prices food prices ah ha

bet people dont realise price of milk eggs and bread used to be regulated in 1980s still lol could live on the dole then .. were career choices, just no one knew what they were, certainly not the smiling Gimp 'career officer' at high school in recession in 1979... grrs @Appleblossom

Re: Trying makes it worse

Oh that makes me feel better @EternalFlower that you would also not be able to find stationary! I don't know where they hide everything. I think it's designed like a maze on purpose, so we get lost & buy more. No wonder I like shopping on Amazon.

I recently purchased new product called paint pens. They are very fun. Reminds me of my highschool days when the boyz would graffiti with Poscas!

I am sad again today too. How are you going?

The receptionist sounds horrible. Sorry you are having to deal with that. It's so easy to be kind, or at the least, have manners! yet I am constantly shocked by people who are rude. I completely understand it can ruin a whole day. It's lovely that your friend can attempt to schedule appt. & take some pressure off you for a moment. Good luck. Xx

P.s I liked your comment, internal vs external. I will ponder😊

@TAB

There were issues with big government in the past, but some regulation is needed to keep the greedy bug**rs in line. I learned that is a steelman argument yesterday, not a strawman. Yay for youtube!

Take it easy re ideal number of steps. Some done is better than none.

@maddison inner and outer worlds need regular adjustment ...

@EternalFlower heard the word ennui today. Not heard it in a while. It can be a way of looking at sadness ... I see it as connecting to social realities not just about inner feelings ....

Re: Trying makes it worse

Not heard that one before @appleblosom Ennui makes me think of crosswords lol

Re: Trying makes it worse

Yes that is very true @Appleblossom re: adjusting worlds. A quick hypothesis I came up with today was - noise comes from outside world & quite comes from inside..... It's debatable!! I loved your explanation of enuii, esp. social realities.... Kind of like a constant view of the battle against hopelessness..?

I can't do crosswords. Hi @TAB . Good news about your surgery👍

Re: Trying makes it worse

Practice makes perfect re crosswords @maddison plus you can get used to particular ones. Googling answers/thesaurus can get you going. I stopped for 6 mths now lucky to get 4 words ha ha
