Welcome and getting started

Trying makes it worse

Trying makes it worse

Hi,

I'm EternalFlower and I've been feeling completely overwhelmed, sad, and pessimistic.

I've tried and been a responsible patient and person, reaching out to various services when I started feeling scarily anxious and suicidal, 2 years back..

My Dr is new, a young guy who regularly admits he's inexperienced, and aside from some good jokes, he actually does very little

I notice how easy it is to blame myself that I don't feel better, a total shame spiral, but I wander if my treatments just are bad....

I wanted to chat and hear anyone and hope I can use this space to help not feel so alone.

Thanks xxx EternalFlower

Re: Trying makes it worse

Hi @TAB glad they have left and u have a bit of peace, I'm sorry they are so loud.

Are other neighbours easier?

What are u watching this evening?

There's a new Heartbreak High out which seems good.

Re: Trying makes it worse

@EternalFlower yes it got better. And yes I realise its my mind playing tricks on me with neighbors. If I was busy or at peace with things it would not affect me like it does. Oh Well. Good Night

Re: Trying makes it worse

Hi @TAB sorry u felt in a bad headspace which interacted with a noisy neighbour,

I think sound and intrusive ppl can affect us a lot.

I hope u are OK and had an OK night.

Similarly I have a problem with my apartment being visible to the public, as ifs on a corner and ground floor, I know it's also me and my ptsd but I worry about strangers looking in, and feel really self conscious.

Re: Trying makes it worse

yeah to me its indicator of my MH when neighbours upset me with noise, if I was okay or at least busy, would not notice it @EternalFlower

yeah, curtains are good, people cant see in, ie those fine ones

Re: Trying makes it worse

Hey @EternalFlower

How's things?🌸

My digital detox went ok. I felt lost being away from forums etc. For the first couple of days. I was able to get heaps done. I mostly became engrossed in doing art.

Today has been difficult for me. Yesterday was wonderful! Today I had lots of carer responsibilities. I really enjoy my carer role & couldn't imagine being more engaged or fulfilled by something. However, I do so much & can feel undervalued & not as respected as I'd like. I really appreciated @TAB s comment about realising that this is a sign of my own mental health. I would like to get to a place where I am not so affected by other people. I have definitely seen myself that way in my good mental health days.

It tends to be an accumulation of instances that are brushed off in the moment & then suddenly I find I'm losing my mind over the dishes!

I really appreciated @Appleblossom comments too about ones' own acceptable standards of tidiness. I am exactly the same & could identify so much with how you keep your house.

I really put lots of unnecessary pressure on myself to conform to what I believe other people think my house should like. I need to acknowledge, all the work I do manage to accomplish more!

It made me very happy @EternalFlower to read that I made you feel worthwhile💜 To me, you are amazingly worthwhile! I find the way you interact with other members to be kind, considerate, intelligent and warm. You are very perceptive, from what I can tell & I value your insights. I think it's great that you can be open about things that are sometimes embarrassing to talk about - & @TAB @Appleblossom It makes me feel more safe to admit when I'm feeling inadequacies or to be more open in general. So..yah.. Super Worthwhile.

Oh, I was in Kmart too a couple of days ago! I ended up walking out. It was the right decision for me. That place is an alternate universe. All I needed was stationary. I stood at the entrance, totally dumbfounded for about 5 mins. Well done getting your candles 🥉

It's meant to be very heavy rain for next 3 days here, right now it's sunny! Hard to imagine the rain right now. Rain is my favourite.

Pluviophile Noun. pluviophile (plural pluviophiles) (neologism) One who loves rain; one who finds joy and peace of mind during rainy days.

Re: Trying makes it worse

Each year I go to the mall a little less. Sometimes its do optical or audio than buying stuff. I hate it, but stopped losing my car there, which was a problem when i was at my lowest ebb.

@maddison love pluviophile!

Hi @TAB @Appleblossom @maddison @Shaz51 @tyme xx

Ooh I would struggle with stationary as well @maddison

@Appleblossom there's a very familiar anxiety re losing the car

@TAB that's true re mental state amplifying. It's hard to identify sometimes if a problem is internal or external.

@Shaz51 How are u? Xx

@tyme hope ur well
