Welcome and getting started

Trying makes it worse

Trying makes it worse

Hi,

I'm EternalFlower and I've been feeling completely overwhelmed, sad, and pessimistic.

I've tried and been a responsible patient and person, reaching out to various services when I started feeling scarily anxious and suicidal, 2 years back..

My Dr is new, a young guy who regularly admits he's inexperienced, and aside from some good jokes, he actually does very little

I notice how easy it is to blame myself that I don't feel better, a total shame spiral, but I wander if my treatments just are bad....

I wanted to chat and hear anyone and hope I can use this space to help not feel so alone.

Thanks xxx EternalFlower

Re: Trying makes it worse

Hi @TAB was wandering how u are, hoping u do get a day off. Do u feel the job is to hard on Ur knees?

I hope u are OK.

It sounds like a hard job and long drive to get there.

I am bit anxiety filled, but ok.

Keep getting spammy calls from voice message pretending to be Amazon Prime today, which are fraud ones and just so annoying.

I'm looking at the clouds ⛅ ATM, so nice, q beautiful day. I barely work myself, and relate to Ur message.

Hope ur OK.

Re: Trying makes it worse

Oh yes @TAB driving can be very stressful. I haven't driven in city for long time. I'm sure it would give me nervous breakdown! And yeh, it doesn't matter if you are the best driver in the world, it's the people in the other cars that are the worry. They take risks & do stupid things. It's huge mental energy. Only my opinion, tho I think it sounds wise to protect your legs/knees from long term damage, by having day off - if you did! Take it easy xx

Agree re driving, esp in this case with me. @maddison um think its more than a day of , prob weeks or forever, they said OHS would be in touch, not heard from anyone.

Hey @EternalFlower how are you? I was looking at clouds for a moment too today! I noticed there were different types happening - thin, streaky white (a little boring) & then I saw a nice full puffy one, that was fun!

I can hardly believe you were watching the same episode of rehearsal that I was describing! So funny & cool!! Yes, I wanted to keep watching after that one. I can probably download the episodes I missed, I don't like using my phone data, I have plenty- it's a process tho! I haven't been watching as much tv lately. I don't think I turned the TV on yesterday - very unusual for me.

I will reply properly soon. I'm feeling tired today. It was lovely & sunny xx

Oh really @TAB that sounds like it might be a relief? I know you said you needed the money. Fingers crossed something better will come along for you. It can be very difficult to have to decide between health & money. Ridiculous! Good to relax for next few days at least, anyway.

Re: Trying makes it worse

Me again @EternalFlower

Feeling tired, maybe due to housemate having difficulties coping at the moment. He is 'ok', going through some depression. Not eating properly. It is hard to watch. I try everything to encourage him to get out of bed, eat proper meals etc. As you might have personally experienced ( I think I have to some degree) when someone is in that state, sometimes there is no amount of persuading that will 'fix' the situation.

He has a psych review tomorrow. His new cw is wonderful, so far. Very in tune with his needs & I appreciate that she tries to involve me & asks my opinion on things. She is quite young.

I'm trying to advocate for him to have short term hospital admission, similar to you. His behaviour is not 'extreme' enough, yet I really believe he needs hospital care. It is what he wants as well.

There is this massive gap between coping & being well.... And then extremely unwell, that is not recognised, or accommodated for in the health system.

It's as though I watch him slowly decline (over months). He might 'come good' or he might end up losing touch. It's the waiting part, where there is no help for him... Except me. .& I don't have the capacity or skills to do anything besides be his friend.

I really believe that short term hospital stays may give him the reprieve & security he needs. Rest for his mind. Fuel to keep going.

Day to day life, here at home is overwhelming for some people with very serious mental health diagnosis.

Not to mention, it is exhausting for me, as my resources are inadequate. Thanks for reading💜

Calm & happiness xx
