Welcome and getting started

Trying makes it worse

Trying makes it worse

Hi,

I'm EternalFlower and I've been feeling completely overwhelmed, sad, and pessimistic.

I've tried and been a responsible patient and person, reaching out to various services when I started feeling scarily anxious and suicidal, 2 years back..

My Dr is new, a young guy who regularly admits he's inexperienced, and aside from some good jokes, he actually does very little

I notice how easy it is to blame myself that I don't feel better, a total shame spiral, but I wander if my treatments just are bad....

I wanted to chat and hear anyone and hope I can use this space to help not feel so alone.

Thanks xxx EternalFlower

Re: Trying makes it worse

Hello @EternalFlower . Butterflies and bows came out of your letter when I opened it. Sounds like the break we have been hoping for.

I'm just going to wish you all the best with this new fellow, and be on my way.

I got a good feeling about your future Eternal. Sleep well.. you earned it.

Re: Trying makes it worse

You're very thoughtful @Owlunar2 to be here and provide such kind words, thank u

Sorry to read about Ur abandoning neighbour that sounds very stressful and trying

Are u doing ok?

Thanks @tonys I am keeping on

🦋 🎀💝

I hope Ur doing OK and getting good rest .

So nice u knew what I meant about alone!!! My gp likes me to watch shows about animals or nature when depressed

Sometimes it's good to watch Explorer shows and see people overcome physical terrain....takes me out of my head

I love watching true crime at times but I can't handle anything much now. Too painful

I am taking each day as it comes. It is weird how dependent and intense things were with the dr - maybe he realised he was too attached himself and I too dependent

I don't have a good support system

My friends check in but then vanish at times as they have kids and lots of other priorities and I don't always feel comfortable burdening them

I bottle everything up and then explode, as I did with Dr

I must admit it hurts to lose someone helpful. But I must move forward

Re: Trying makes it worse

Hey @EternalFlower . Mate, we all have ups, downs, blowouts, meltdowns. One of the rest of us eternal.

Thing is. You can't walk forward while looking back. Your arm in arm with new help.

Role with it. If a blow up happens, Wait it out, come back with a "sorry doc" and let him do the work.

Hot tip. Sometimes I say sorry even if I think I totally right. Thats because I know, that I don't know the full picture of all the moving parts. I just trust my doc cause I know he 's good.

And the best thing is, sorry's don't costs a cent. Yep the last guy you had was not professional but you have to chance it and trust again to partake in help.

Sleep well my friend . tonys

Re: Trying makes it worse

OH thats so nice @EternalFlower. And I thankyou so much for your friendship. I am the greater beneficiary.

Mate. . . I have to say that there is a whole lot to like about you. Your such a battler. I have seen you in your lowest of lows, no food , no heat, no love. . . Even men buckle and whinge faced with way less adversity.

I said last month, even my tears cry their own tears for you , I really meant it. But You. . .

You always survive. When I think all is lost, you show me just how big the human heart can be.

I'm am in awe of you flowers. Your now and forever friend.. tonys

Hello @tonys @Owlunar2 @Melbcoffeesnob @Appleblossom @Sophia1

I hope u are well

Are u enjoying some calm approaching the weekend?

I feel world's better

I cannot believe it

I had some beautiful friends help me and also I believe what happened had to happen.

How weird is that .

I just decided to believe that and am now feeling better

Less wounded

I think there are drs who would not do what mine did

Discharging me js cool but to kick me out that way was a choice.

I can put them firmly on his shoulders

I did not choose that

Also discharging me suddenly to nothing was a choice

He couldn't end it safely

A good dr would be able to not make me feel so at fault and bad. He could hold

He was a good dr in his way, maybe he thought letting me go abruptly was the only way, but I believe and know there to be other ways. Nothing needs to end so ugly. A good therapist would wind down sessions and keep it safe

So that's his choice and I can let it go

Re: Trying makes it worse

Yes - let it go @EternalFlower - you can and this is a good thing - it's not healthy or necessary to carry around someone else's bad choices

This is good news - I wish you the best

Re: Trying makes it worse

Hi @Owlunar2 thank u for checking in

I appreciate Ur compassion for my situation.

I am still reeling but I am here

It is confusing at times and i blame myself

And then I let go and then its even more confusing.

I try talk to friends but not all get it.

Helplines seem kinda hit and miss

And wiatt times now are so long, it is hard

Re: Trying makes it worse

Hello forum friends

I hope Ur weekends are good

So far

I have been breaking down boxes from my move which were sitting on my porch

And drafting emails to my ex dr that I'll never send

And calling helplines and whenever I get some appetite I try force some food down

Yesterday was watermelon and it felt so good to eat as I've been not able to for a while

I called the CATT today and have been told things are moving in linking me with a support worker and that was good.
