Welcome and getting started

Trying makes it worse

Trying makes it worse

Hi,

I'm EternalFlower and I've been feeling completely overwhelmed, sad, and pessimistic.

I've tried and been a responsible patient and person, reaching out to various services when I started feeling scarily anxious and suicidal, 2 years back..

My Dr is new, a young guy who regularly admits he's inexperienced, and aside from some good jokes, he actually does very little

I notice how easy it is to blame myself that I don't feel better, a total shame spiral, but I wander if my treatments just are bad....

I wanted to chat and hear anyone and hope I can use this space to help not feel so alone.

Thanks xxx EternalFlower

Re: Trying makes it worse

@EternalFlower Thank you for letting me know and I'll do everything I can to ensure you are safe for now. Has anything made you feel like this today that we can deal with? And where are you at the moment are you home?

Re: Trying makes it worse

The interactions here have made me feel like people making fun of me and think I'm ab idiot.

I'm home alone

I don't have a way to make myself safe @RiverSeal

Re: Trying makes it worse

Bout to hook into the hospital grub @EternalFlower and it just occurred to me. I tell my doc, shrink my teddy bear, the nurses, pretty much anything with ears that I want to go home every day.

The difference between the very professional bunch here, and Mr snappy britches Dr that you had is that they

know I'm not right in the head. They smile, chuckle a little, mostly ignore my rubbish, and I can tell you for sure, there is no way they would ever turn me out on the street.

Your a bit crook too Flowers. When we are not well, we say things we don't even realize, maybe do strange things that are not in our best interests, And a true professional will hopefully recognise this, flick the muck from their lapel, rise above the chaos and not abandon us.

Well I'm a bit bias, I'm your mate. but that how old eyes sees it..

Any way, a cuppa tea and a snooze fixes most things.

Why don't we shake up the snow globe again tomorrow and it might all look all different again.. .

Peace to you @EternalFlower tonys moon base 1

Re: Trying makes it worse

Hi @EternalFlower

You must be feeling terrible - this experience is so hard to take - I have had it happen to me more than once - and actually I have had to end relationships myself - I have always tried to be kind in doing so - focusing on my limitations rather than any fault in the other person.

I take it this has been an unkind ending - causing grief among other emotions. You are entitled to your feelings no matter what they are and how hard they are.

I am sure no one here means to make fun of you - I certainly am not - I really care about what has happened and I can only hope you are able to push through this and find a better therapist - you deserve better than what has happened.

I am sending big virtual hugs and my love - and my respect

Re: Trying makes it worse

Hi @EternalFlower

I am sending this message too - I thought I had lost it and let's not waste it -

Yes - I hear you - that has to be devasting and I understand. I have had that said to me more than once and actually I have had to say it to other people. That was never easy either.

The important thing to consider is the way you feel - and it is a terrible loss for you - like losing a limb - how painful that must be!

Remember - this isn't a reflection upon you though you may feel you said the wrong thing. Your therapist must have this issue arising at times and this has to be hard to take.

Still - your feelings of hurt and being discouraged are real and valid - this is what you are going through and you must also be grieving - something that will take its course - it is a hard emotion to endure though.

The truth about your therapist is something no one us know or will know. I do know that when I have had to break off a relationship I have tried to be kind - focusing on my limitations rather than anything else - I feel your therapist didn't do this.

I am so sorry you are going through this - and as hard as it is maybe it's best to battle on - and I know that is hard when a therapist feels the need to drop you.

I am sending big hugs

Re: Trying makes it worse

Hi @tonys how are u doing today in Ur hospital , how do u feel

Ur so right and I agree.

Life is bumpy and I am a strong one in my heart

I've lost so much but each time I overcome...I am still a bit in shock and finding it hard but each day it's easier and some moments there is this strength inside, I can't describe it but it's a deep knowing that no one person can make or break me as I know my worth

I am grateful I have that 🙏
