Welcome and getting started

Trying makes it worse

Trying makes it worse

Hi,

I'm EternalFlower and I've been feeling completely overwhelmed, sad, and pessimistic.

I've tried and been a responsible patient and person, reaching out to various services when I started feeling scarily anxious and suicidal, 2 years back..

My Dr is new, a young guy who regularly admits he's inexperienced, and aside from some good jokes, he actually does very little

I notice how easy it is to blame myself that I don't feel better, a total shame spiral, but I wander if my treatments just are bad....

I wanted to chat and hear anyone and hope I can use this space to help not feel so alone.

Thanks xxx EternalFlower

Hi @Zoe7 glad ur doctor was able to stand up for u. I feel this psychologist is wise. I see her once every two weeks at 8 45am and am always late and she is calm and just lets me in.

I am trying. I hope she can help and do it in a contained way. There is no rush. It seems a delicate journey.

Hey @tonys

I meant to reply earlier

Having spent enough time in hospitals meself, the smart patients are the nice ones. Everyone's lives are better for it...and chocolate always helps! lol

Great to hear they're caring for you 🙂

Hey @StuF @Zoe7 @TAB

@EternalFlower Its funny how some connections flow more easily and others we have to work harder at. Just the way of it I guess. I am glad you have options and a sense of possibility with the EMDR lady.

NDIS can be a real headache but be patient, take a long term view, and work out what works for you... it can be a key to services and finding that out rather than sinking further down. It helped plug a gap in people contact for me. 'Choice and Control' ... is a motto that I really did not embrace until this year. Somehow I was stuck on fitting into their system, but relating to others in different nspaces and getting feedback helps.

@tonys Thanks again mate. I played it cool tonight. No fireworks. The music is actually pretty sparky, so I wonder if that is part of what set me off last time. It was also deep hurt. A counsellor I spoke with was less distressed than I about what I said last week, and said it was good I set firm boundaries. Maybe I am so unused to setting them it feels worse than it is. Anyway I did not hang around.

Hi @StuF . Beaut music. JuJu space jaz. hypnotic and addictive. I spend hours on the TV Chill station listening to this kind of music late at night. Thanks for sending it to me. Probly should add that sadly I had to bail from the music

thread. Couldn't keep up and pay it the homage it deserves. Plus a few vanishing act posts that puzzled me. Not to worry though. I kept heaps of songs from there on a stick and I still get a sprinkle of sparkling notes on some of the other threads. Best let you know too @TAB . But you guys venture out so I still get to chat with you now and then . You two got me into the world of "you tube" music

What a world. Hope I never wake up from it. Stick to the scenic route.. tonys..

Thanks for that @StuF . Yes well we like to think 'nice' will always triumph. Cunning sometimes trumps it, but given time, good hearts prevail we hope.

Have a great weekend Stuff. tonys

Re: Trying makes it worse

It is very true @StuF

They get to choose to some degree in public who they support so always good to be nice and get chosen!

Here with u @tonys hope u recover well

Good job with ur boundary @Appleblossom i know it is so hard sometimes to do!

My emdr woman is good. She and i talked about color therapies. What is ur favourite color?

Mine is 🍏💚📗☘️🌱🌵🌿.

I find choosing therapists really hard because i have neglect in my past i seem to end up with ones who neglect me. Really hit home when my dr forgot to mention he was going on leave for 5 weeks and didnt organise my meds prior or a replacement. And it feels like too much to ask but it is his job which he is paid highly to do as a specialist. Idk...i just want better.

My friend says he will never change and never get it.

Why is it the more important the job is, the more bs they get away with? Having worked in cleaning or nannying or tutoring, I know if I dont come one week ill get fired.

If i forgot to inform them of my abscence ill get fired.

But drs do whatever.

Hey @Appleblossom Well done. Move over cool hand Luke , I say. What sets us 'off' You say.

No. . . I mean, what hidden thing or construct of events is the fiddlestick best left untouched thats disguised by all the other clutter we think or are led to believe, set us of.. The experts think they know us. . .

That truly is one of life's great mysteries. But you gained more than you lost and knew when to ease back of the trigger and leave. I call that great progress mate.

As for boundaries. I'm a man who's frontal lobes scan grey. It takes a very special and understanding

person to maintain an enduring friendship with such a man. She sits patiently for hours, my book keeper friend, looks up from

her paperback and glows me a smile. The constant ebb and flow of our boundaries is more than the old timbers could bare. We compromised a fence around the both of us and hope within it we can dream of happiness. As for The boundaries of others, . . well I still depend on charity there.

Have a wonderful weekend Appleblossom @EternalFlower @TAB @StuF And all tonys
