Life after hospital

Life after hospital

Hi @NikNik@CherryBomb @Decadian@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@Silenus and everyone else I have forgotten (i am sorry my memory is not good)

Life after hospital???

I really don't know. I was in hospital for 3 weeks and I did hibernate for the first 3 days sleeping most of that time. I had a change of meds which took a while to work out the strength. Then my BP was doing weird things and they changed those meds as well. I was totally exhausted and I don't know if I will ever get better.

I did eventually join in socially and do groups but unfortunately the groups triggered a lot of memories of my childhood abuse,, my mum and how she has treated me, so I used to walk out in tears. I seemed to be crying and sleeping quite a lot. Self harming was on my mind a lot and i was 'looked after' really well by the staff. Often they would pop in my room and just chat but at times all i wanted to do was cry and sleep.

My discharge yesterday was emotional, i didn't want to leave my safe place, my peace and quiet. I tried the night before something terrible and wrote a note to one of the night staff who sat down with me in my room and he told me I don't believe in myself enough that i am strong but i don't see it.

I saw so many people from all walks of life suffering in silence. I came home on the weekends and couldn't even look at the house as it was untidy or not how i would keep it. so after a bit of cleaning i decided no i wanted to go back to 'my safe home'.

Today i had to see my GP and was falling asleep, i told him i am not sure if it's the meds and he said i am still exhausted.

I just feel like crying. Having horrible nightmares at the hospital was so bad that i was too scared to close my eyes, but i had the best male night staff who sat with me and made me a hot milo and gave me some meds to calm down and go off to sleep.

I am so axious about work tomorrow, but i have no money, no sick leave and no annual leave. tried centrelink but they are useless as my hubby earns just over the threshold. so on top of finances and my health i feel i am still not the best.

I wasn't gooing to come on here so soon but i needed to talk to someone as i am home alone. the only good thing that kept me going was knitting.

God i wish i could jusst go away, need to stop these negative thoughts.

Anyway i just wanted to say hi, i am still here and i am sorry if i have forgotten someone's name - i think my exhuastion and meds are affecting my concentration and memory.

I really don't kow how i will cope tomorrow.

i am so scared and anxious.

You were all probably hoping for me to be jumping up and down with glee - if only.

ps. another thing we are signing papers to sell our home this week; that's one good thing i suppose, just the packing is overwhelming.

Ah yes @BlueBay

I have this brilliant idea - you have been so tired because your unconscious mind is getting ready to dream - and what a dream - your whole being was in a hurry to get to sleep to have that dream

That's fantastic

Re: Life after hospital

Hi everyone
Had my session this morning. I don't like what he said. Had told me that I always think in black or white. Then we were talking about my parents and I told him I hate my mum and I can't let go. He said no I need to learn to live and that they will NEVER change. I yelled and said I don't like that word NEVER and he said but it's true. They will never change. I started to cry and said that means I'll never see my dad again. Never is final the end forever and ever. I was upset and he knew.
I argue with him all the time about black and white thinking.
I told him it was a shit session but he said no it was actually a good session.
I'm feeling frustrated and angry.
And I'm tired. Think I need a sleep.

Re: Life after hospital

@BlueBay. Babies in dreams mean NEW BEGINNINGS! They always represent a new phase in your life. Seriously. And I know what that means. Do you know? Because you had such happy feelings. Joy, happiness. Almost ecstacy. This is you unconscious self letting you know that things are getting better. Something new. And because you were so happy, it means whatever this new is - it is going to make you soooooo happy and peaceful.
I think it's another reflection of how far you have come and how you are definitely heading in the right direction re: your recent thoughts on your family.
Brilliant dream to have. Write it down. Remember you are moving in the right direction to a happier you.

Hello @BlueBay

I know it is very, very hard

my mum and I left my father as he was mentally abusing me , when i was 18 i thought i would give dad another chance ,

when ever he saw me he would walk to the other side of the road or he would dive into the nearest shop , then one day i went to visit him and he pushed me against the wall

It took me a while to realise that I was not living my life because of my Father

I hope this helps my friend , sending you hugs xx

Re: Life after hospital

Hey @utopia

I think i will copy and paste what i wrote about my dream. I still think about it right now, how happy i was just staring at this beautiful little baby in my arms. The peace, the joy, the happiness. i can't explain @utopia how happy i was.

I am going to tell my psych on tuesday or write it down and give to him. I need to treasure inn my mind the amazing feeling i had while holding that baby.

I think you are so right with your explanation. I really can't believe that i am moving forward. ME moving forward, i can't really see it.

Ah, i wish i was feeling like that right now and it stayed.

Hugs to you @Shaz51

That must have been so difficult for you and your mum. And especially when you would see him and he crossed the road so he wouldn't see you.

Thank you for your reply. 🙂

Re: Life after hospital

@BlueBay. I just read @decadians response to your dream. She said it so much better than me.
Did you tell your psychologist about your thoughts earlier in the week? About your parents not changing - so you will focus on you and your hubby/kids family. Did you tell him about this dream? Because I t is confirming you will start healing and be happier, by not thinking about them & putting yourself first instead.
I think your session went well. There is still an international struggle regarding your birth family. That's to be expected. But are you going to follow your dream - & not let them take away your baby - the new you - the one who is working so hard & being so strong. Todays session was just the internal struggle. You will get stronger at dealing with this.
My psychologist also used to constantly tell me about my black and white issues. It was frustrating at the time, because I just couldn't understand it. But there are always shades of grey. You will get there.
Be sure to relax and give yourself a treat. A bath. Some knitting. A walk. Some chocolate. You are on the right track.

@BlueBay. You may not see it today - but I do and I'm sure others on this site do too. Hold onto that feeling.
