Life after hospital

Life after hospital

Hi @NikNik@CherryBomb @Decadian@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@Silenus and everyone else I have forgotten (i am sorry my memory is not good)

Life after hospital???

I really don't know. I was in hospital for 3 weeks and I did hibernate for the first 3 days sleeping most of that time. I had a change of meds which took a while to work out the strength. Then my BP was doing weird things and they changed those meds as well. I was totally exhausted and I don't know if I will ever get better.

I did eventually join in socially and do groups but unfortunately the groups triggered a lot of memories of my childhood abuse,, my mum and how she has treated me, so I used to walk out in tears. I seemed to be crying and sleeping quite a lot. Self harming was on my mind a lot and i was 'looked after' really well by the staff. Often they would pop in my room and just chat but at times all i wanted to do was cry and sleep.

My discharge yesterday was emotional, i didn't want to leave my safe place, my peace and quiet. I tried the night before something terrible and wrote a note to one of the night staff who sat down with me in my room and he told me I don't believe in myself enough that i am strong but i don't see it.

I saw so many people from all walks of life suffering in silence. I came home on the weekends and couldn't even look at the house as it was untidy or not how i would keep it. so after a bit of cleaning i decided no i wanted to go back to 'my safe home'.

Today i had to see my GP and was falling asleep, i told him i am not sure if it's the meds and he said i am still exhausted.

I just feel like crying. Having horrible nightmares at the hospital was so bad that i was too scared to close my eyes, but i had the best male night staff who sat with me and made me a hot milo and gave me some meds to calm down and go off to sleep.

I am so axious about work tomorrow, but i have no money, no sick leave and no annual leave. tried centrelink but they are useless as my hubby earns just over the threshold. so on top of finances and my health i feel i am still not the best.

I wasn't gooing to come on here so soon but i needed to talk to someone as i am home alone. the only good thing that kept me going was knitting.

God i wish i could jusst go away, need to stop these negative thoughts.

Anyway i just wanted to say hi, i am still here and i am sorry if i have forgotten someone's name - i think my exhuastion and meds are affecting my concentration and memory.

I really don't kow how i will cope tomorrow.

i am so scared and anxious.

You were all probably hoping for me to be jumping up and down with glee - if only.

ps. another thing we are signing papers to sell our home this week; that's one good thing i suppose, just the packing is overwhelming.

Re: Life after hospital

So glad to hear you saying 'we can only do so much' @BlueBay. That's so right. I've been known to overwork and do too much, & you just can't do it. It catches up in the end.
Sorry to hear the cramps are back. Wonder if it's to do with the medication or something else. At least you have your gp appointment tonight. Hopefully they can help with that.
Your dream - wow. While it may have brought back memories, you don't seem to have let it trigger you. Did you notice that? I love how you stood up for yourself in the dream. That's a reflection of the decision you made to 'let it go'. You won't be bullied by them any more. And it is sinking in to your subconscious now and coming through your dreams. Bloody brilliant. I tell you - I think your psychologist is going to be blown away by your progress over the past few days.
I think you are a champion and are finally recognising that YOU CAN DO IT.
Let us know if the doctor is able to get those cranps stopped.

H @BlueBay
It's not normal to be still having cramps days after your examination - I take it you had a pap test - and that is uncomfortable - I am glad you are seeing the doctor tonight and seeing your psyche about those headaches

It's been pouring with rain here all day too - it started to rain yesterday - but yesterday was a beautiful day - and there will be more so that display you have put together will be attractive and an attraction when the sun comes out and people start going to the beach - hey - and Christmas shopping

That dream sounds brilliant - our dreams can tell us a lot - getting up and telling your parents what's what means you are starting to stand up for yourself - whatever it was that bugged them can't be so bad you need to give yourself a hard time - your unconscious mind is starting to have it's say - wtg

I was stretching out time between my visits with my psychotherapist before she said she was going back to Sydney - and it was a big deal when we had the last session I left feeling great -

And for you @BlueBay and @utopia

The time will come when we move on - psycho-therapy is a good thing - but not meant to last forever - the future will be all the best because of it - wishing your both well

Decadian

Hi @utopia@Decadian@Faith-and-Hope

Gosh I don't know sometimes i wonder about doctors - i told him about my cramping pain and he says oh it could be gastro. No i know the difference between gastro pain and cramping pain. it's different. I also can tell if i have eaten something i shouldn't have and upset my stomach (i suffer from fructose and lactose interolerance). anyway he says just take some pain relief and see how you go.

He normally is a really good doctor and has been great support for me but I don't think it is what he says.

Headaches are still here - which i still think is the anti depressants. i will tell my psych.

I am sooo tired tonight. very busy day and not enough time to do it all - but i've done my best considering i felt crap.

sitting at home now not eating much, actually haven't been eating properly since came out of hosptial. my apetite has reduced quite a lot. just not interested in eating.

Yes my dream prob does mean something. and you;re prob right @Decadian it's me letting go of my parents. It is so surreal i can remember every single about the dream, so much detail.

why, why, why do emotions come when i am alone. i am sitting here typing this and tears are streaming down my face. For no particualr reason. maybe i am tired.

Re: Life after hospital

It sounds like you are very tired @BlueBay .... but some reads are healing tears ..... just let them happen for A little while, then maybe do what you can towards a restful night ... a nice warm shower or a bathtub soak ....a chamomile tea .... some knitting with the lights turned down .....

Rest well after your long day .... 🌷💕

@BlueBay. I think @Faith-and-Hope is right. You have had a busy week. You are bound to be tired. A quiet evening and a restful sleep.

Re: Life after hospital

Hi again @BlueBay

I think if you had gastro you would know it - there is a certainty that occurs when we have a tummy bug or eaten something that is "off" - and it wouldn't be around for days - I guess you have to wait and see for now

Personally - and this is a wild guess - you were very tense when you had the examination and your muscles have gone into spasm - sometimes I have had an over-distended bladder and that has caused cramps - but I haven't had a smear taken for as long as I can remember - it's not something I worry about because I had a total hysterectomy -

That dream - yes - you will remember important dreams very well and it is more than just letting go of you parents - you are also telling yourself that you didn't cause it - your mother did - you know the truth - and your dreams are all about yourself - I think it's brilliant - and I am glad you are having a dream like that.

Why do you cry when you are alone? Because you can - I hate it myself - I will feel miserable about something and there are moments when it really gets to me - I hate it - but you are not strange or alone in crying when you are alone - it happens

I think you are very tired too - you have been through months of stress - but you have come a long way

@Decadian@utopia@Faith-and-Hope

I have had the most amazing and weird dream again last night.

The beautiful part was me holding a baby, i was having a baby boy after 20 yrs!!!! And I was so happy and at peace, just holding this beautiful baby in my arms and staring at him. The peace and joy this baby gave me was amazing and unbelievable.

But then it went weird. I was at some party still with my baby and my sister (who i talk to) said i have to warn our other sister that there is danger. So she went off and i was walking around the outside of this party to see my brother sitting in a car looking suspicious. And the next thing i am talking to a police officer (detective) asking will he be okay and the police officer said yes he will be okay (i think meaning he won't go to jail).

my parents weren't in this dream; but i was at a shopping centre with my baby looking for formula (cause i had no idea which one to buy!!!) and two guys came behind me with a sharp item and used me to try and take money off someone. it was weird.

but this baby - OMG it was amazing, beatiful, i can't describe how i felt just super super joy.

so - what does this all mean?

By the way i haven't taken my night tablet for a few nights and these dreams have been coming out. tablet is for nightmares and high blood pressure.

dreams have meaning and i would love to know what this dream means.

Re: Life after hospital

Good morning @BlueBay .... 😊

It does sound like an amazing dream .... but the best part is that although it has left you confused, it has also left you feeling wonderful about the baby ..... and that is wonderful for us the hear ..... ❣

I think most people have very intriguing dreams at some point in their life .... my mind produces "dreams" during the day sometimes whike I am awake .... which is what I think yours does too .... from what you have described before and referred to as fantasising ....

i know I am such a visual processer ..... meaning that I process information mostly in the form of pictures .... and "a picture paints a thousand words" as they say .... that if I bring an image to mind it expresses an awful lot of thought and emotion in a single moment. 🎨 .......🖼

Daytime fantasies work like that, I think, but we have more of a sense of control than when our brain starts producing dreams at night, without the involvement of our conscious mind.

There are things that we dream about that we don't have to actually understand the meaning of. I just take it that my inner world is sorting itself out, using pictures, so my "awake" or outer world is going to end up calmer and more manageable ❣

I believe it's part of your healing, and it will be good for you to remember this beautiful feeling the baby Brough to you .... like it was a gift ..... 🌷💜

Re: Life after hospital

Oh @BlueBay

What a wonderful dream

What does the dream-baby mean? It is a gift for sure - you were so pleased and wonderfully happy and no one could take it away - even people with weapons - even the trouble it could cause in your family

I think another meaning could be it's the new born you coming out of the darkness and shadows of the past years that have traumatized you - this is a glorious thing to share - how fantastic.

And you are going to protect this new born self against everything -

I am so thrilled to read this - it's the best news - thanks for sharing this

There could be other meanings - you can google them - and the meaning that feels right to you is the right meaning

We dream whether we remember them or not - and I think that not taking the tablet for sleep could be making a difference -

Tell on - we are all waiting now to hear about the dreams of your new life - something you could not see for so long
