Life after hospital

Life after hospital

Hi @NikNik@CherryBomb @Decadian@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@Silenus and everyone else I have forgotten (i am sorry my memory is not good)

Life after hospital???

I really don't know. I was in hospital for 3 weeks and I did hibernate for the first 3 days sleeping most of that time. I had a change of meds which took a while to work out the strength. Then my BP was doing weird things and they changed those meds as well. I was totally exhausted and I don't know if I will ever get better.

I did eventually join in socially and do groups but unfortunately the groups triggered a lot of memories of my childhood abuse,, my mum and how she has treated me, so I used to walk out in tears. I seemed to be crying and sleeping quite a lot. Self harming was on my mind a lot and i was 'looked after' really well by the staff. Often they would pop in my room and just chat but at times all i wanted to do was cry and sleep.

My discharge yesterday was emotional, i didn't want to leave my safe place, my peace and quiet. I tried the night before something terrible and wrote a note to one of the night staff who sat down with me in my room and he told me I don't believe in myself enough that i am strong but i don't see it.

I saw so many people from all walks of life suffering in silence. I came home on the weekends and couldn't even look at the house as it was untidy or not how i would keep it. so after a bit of cleaning i decided no i wanted to go back to 'my safe home'.

Today i had to see my GP and was falling asleep, i told him i am not sure if it's the meds and he said i am still exhausted.

I just feel like crying. Having horrible nightmares at the hospital was so bad that i was too scared to close my eyes, but i had the best male night staff who sat with me and made me a hot milo and gave me some meds to calm down and go off to sleep.

I am so axious about work tomorrow, but i have no money, no sick leave and no annual leave. tried centrelink but they are useless as my hubby earns just over the threshold. so on top of finances and my health i feel i am still not the best.

I wasn't gooing to come on here so soon but i needed to talk to someone as i am home alone. the only good thing that kept me going was knitting.

God i wish i could jusst go away, need to stop these negative thoughts.

Anyway i just wanted to say hi, i am still here and i am sorry if i have forgotten someone's name - i think my exhuastion and meds are affecting my concentration and memory.

I really don't kow how i will cope tomorrow.

i am so scared and anxious.

You were all probably hoping for me to be jumping up and down with glee - if only.

ps. another thing we are signing papers to sell our home this week; that's one good thing i suppose, just the packing is overwhelming.

Hi @utopia@Decadian@Faith-and-Hope

These damn cramps are not settling down; i have just taken some more strong pain relief and I will get a heat pack to put on my stomach.

Yeah I do live and work in a most beautiful place. From our shop window i can see the beautiful water. I just hate it in summer when it's hot and all i can see are all the people enjoying themselves at the beach. And of course we are so busy in summer actually until Easter then all the tourists go back home.

i have a feeling these headaches are from the news meds i am on. now that i think about it i have had these headaches from a few weeks ago when he changed the dosage. i will speak with him next Tuesday.

Hi @BlueBay

I used to live near the beach - right in the middle of the shopping centre and the tourists were certainly around day and night - but they do eventually go home

About your cramps - I often found two heat packs worked better - one on my tummy and one under my feet - how many younger women have I mentioned this too - I still do this myself if I have a pain in the pinny - not cramps though

Easter - wow - I joined here just after last Easter - how fast time passes

I hope you feel better and your headache and tummy cramps settle - you can do without that

It's such a lovely evening - I have been walking around outside - it is spring indeed and the red sky in the evening tells about a good day tomorrow - I will have caught up with myself tomorrow - I shall take a walk early - I am looking forward to this - the weather has been too horribly lately

Re: Life after hospital

@BlueBay. The good thing about working opposite the beach in summer - you can see the view, but not be sweltering in the 40° heat. You're in the air conditioning.
Good to discuss your headaches and any other symptoms with your doctor next week.
I hope the cramps ease up now you've taken some meds.

Re: Life after hospital

@BlueBay. Sorry this post is so late tonight. You'll probably won't read it til the morning.
Just wanted to check in and see how you're doing. Can't remember when your next appointment is, but wondering if side effects have settled down at all.
Did you finish all the summer decorations / remodeling at work yesterday or did you have to do more today?
Hoping Friday is a good day for you.

Hi @utopia

I see my therapist tomorrow morning. The stomach cramps settled down after taking some strong pain relief but yesterday they started again at work. And also headaches haven't really gone away either 😞

I'm going back to my GP tonight after work to see what is going on. I'm also seeing my pysch on tuesday so i will talk to him about side effects and what he thinks.

Moved around some of the summer beach toys and also did a front window display of all toys. Looks good I think anyway. Although looking outside now it is pouring with rain, so i don't think anyone will be buying summer toys just yet.

Working today from 9.30-5.00pm so I will make sure I don't push myself too much as I have noticed that by friday I am really tired. But yes Fun Friday, I love Friday's cause I know i have the next 4 days off!!!

Last night I had a horrible dream of my mum - everything I did she had an answer for and it was wrong whatever I did or said. It was a bit of everything dream, my mum, dad and siblings. But in my dream i was answsering back to my mum and telling my dad 'see she is wrong, i didn't do that, she is wrong'

I'm ok at the moment emotionally so hoping today goes okay.

It is so good to read that you had a great session with your psychologist. I'm so happy for you. How do you feel about weaning down the amount of time you need to see your psychologist? You have put in so much effort and hard work to get where you are today - that is a huge achievement 🙂

I hope I can get there one day, just like you where I don't need or want to see my therapist so often.

Anyway i better go and get ready for work, i hope you have a nice day. Chat tonight. xxxooo
