Life after hospital

Life after hospital

Hi @NikNik@CherryBomb @Decadian@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@Silenus and everyone else I have forgotten (i am sorry my memory is not good)

Life after hospital???

I really don't know. I was in hospital for 3 weeks and I did hibernate for the first 3 days sleeping most of that time. I had a change of meds which took a while to work out the strength. Then my BP was doing weird things and they changed those meds as well. I was totally exhausted and I don't know if I will ever get better.

I did eventually join in socially and do groups but unfortunately the groups triggered a lot of memories of my childhood abuse,, my mum and how she has treated me, so I used to walk out in tears. I seemed to be crying and sleeping quite a lot. Self harming was on my mind a lot and i was 'looked after' really well by the staff. Often they would pop in my room and just chat but at times all i wanted to do was cry and sleep.

My discharge yesterday was emotional, i didn't want to leave my safe place, my peace and quiet. I tried the night before something terrible and wrote a note to one of the night staff who sat down with me in my room and he told me I don't believe in myself enough that i am strong but i don't see it.

I saw so many people from all walks of life suffering in silence. I came home on the weekends and couldn't even look at the house as it was untidy or not how i would keep it. so after a bit of cleaning i decided no i wanted to go back to 'my safe home'.

Today i had to see my GP and was falling asleep, i told him i am not sure if it's the meds and he said i am still exhausted.

I just feel like crying. Having horrible nightmares at the hospital was so bad that i was too scared to close my eyes, but i had the best male night staff who sat with me and made me a hot milo and gave me some meds to calm down and go off to sleep.

I am so axious about work tomorrow, but i have no money, no sick leave and no annual leave. tried centrelink but they are useless as my hubby earns just over the threshold. so on top of finances and my health i feel i am still not the best.

I wasn't gooing to come on here so soon but i needed to talk to someone as i am home alone. the only good thing that kept me going was knitting.

God i wish i could jusst go away, need to stop these negative thoughts.

Anyway i just wanted to say hi, i am still here and i am sorry if i have forgotten someone's name - i think my exhuastion and meds are affecting my concentration and memory.

I really don't kow how i will cope tomorrow.

i am so scared and anxious.

You were all probably hoping for me to be jumping up and down with glee - if only.

ps. another thing we are signing papers to sell our home this week; that's one good thing i suppose, just the packing is overwhelming.

Hi @utopia

I've woken up with a terrible headache. I have managed to do the washing and now doing the vac and mopping. Then i will try to relax. You know when your mind races so fast, well tht is my mind at the moment.

I don't go to work until Wednesday which is so nice.

What are you to today?

Re: Life after hospital

@BlueBay. Sorry you woke with a headache. I hope it's gone now.
I'm having a lazy day. Weather too cold to do more weeding and I still have to entice the rose prickles out of my fingers. Lol.
Trying to think of what to cook the boy for dinner. I might make Tacos tonight.

Tacos sounds yum @utopia ....

I might have enough of our Mexican left from Friday night to make some of those ....

Guocomale needs topping up tho .... some of us tend to really go for that .... 😋

Hi @utopia@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@Decadian

I had to have a little nanna nap at lunch time as my headache was getting worse. I slept for an hour, woke up had a sandwich and my son decided to go for a walk. So Jersey and I tagged along and we walked 30 minutes along the beach, feeling the amazing fresh air. Headache disappeared.

Then I rang the water company to reduce our payments. I was shocked to be told that we are using the amount of water equivalent to 11 people!!!! She has sent out a financial hardship form to fill out and said if we can reduce our water usage the bill would be a lot less. So i put my foot down and told hubby that he needs to fix the leaking toilet and taps (that have been leaking for months!!!!!) That's where the water has gone and money - down the drain. Gosh i am so damn angry, i have told him time and time again to get them fixed - no in one ear and out the other. So he just came home from work and i have told him.

Then i rang a gas company that i thought we were with to sort out changing our payments - to find we are not with them anymore. But this lovely guy said he can find who we are with, and change us back to them again and give us a discount and our payments are cheaper. He has taken all the stress off me for both gas and electiricity.

I am so angry reg. the water but once we fix these bloody leaking things then the bill should reduce. And i have told the kids no more than 4 min showers as we need to get the bill down.

why is it me that has to do everything, sort things out, do this do that. i am so over doing everything.

Re: Life after hospital

@BlueBay. When hubby sees that you are using water for 11 people and what that costs, I think he'll be doing some plumbing repairs by the weekend. It's good that you know now and can get it fixed.
Brilliant about gas company.
I've gone on a hardship payment with my water bill. More important to keep ph gas and electricity on. Water company rarely turns off your water - az it's classed as a necessity to life.
When my brother was a teenager, he had a weekend job and earnt $30. My mum took $10 off his a week. He became a great saver of money over the years. Always putting aside some of his pay.
Have you worked out a payment for board from each of your kids that earn money. Maybe a % of their income. Each child paying different amounts.
So pleased you and the dog tagged along for a walk with your son. The sea air must be invigorating. I'm envious. We are so far inland (hours) we don't get a sea breeze. I miss it

Omg I know!! @utopia & @Faith-and-Hope, I think I went a bit crazy with the source cream, feeling a bit sickly. But I'd do it all over again tomorrow. Definitely mex is the bomb! 😋:bomb:💥
