Life after hospital

Life after hospital

Hi @NikNik@CherryBomb @Decadian@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@Silenus and everyone else I have forgotten (i am sorry my memory is not good)

Life after hospital???

I really don't know. I was in hospital for 3 weeks and I did hibernate for the first 3 days sleeping most of that time. I had a change of meds which took a while to work out the strength. Then my BP was doing weird things and they changed those meds as well. I was totally exhausted and I don't know if I will ever get better.

I did eventually join in socially and do groups but unfortunately the groups triggered a lot of memories of my childhood abuse,, my mum and how she has treated me, so I used to walk out in tears. I seemed to be crying and sleeping quite a lot. Self harming was on my mind a lot and i was 'looked after' really well by the staff. Often they would pop in my room and just chat but at times all i wanted to do was cry and sleep.

My discharge yesterday was emotional, i didn't want to leave my safe place, my peace and quiet. I tried the night before something terrible and wrote a note to one of the night staff who sat down with me in my room and he told me I don't believe in myself enough that i am strong but i don't see it.

I saw so many people from all walks of life suffering in silence. I came home on the weekends and couldn't even look at the house as it was untidy or not how i would keep it. so after a bit of cleaning i decided no i wanted to go back to 'my safe home'.

Today i had to see my GP and was falling asleep, i told him i am not sure if it's the meds and he said i am still exhausted.

I just feel like crying. Having horrible nightmares at the hospital was so bad that i was too scared to close my eyes, but i had the best male night staff who sat with me and made me a hot milo and gave me some meds to calm down and go off to sleep.

I am so axious about work tomorrow, but i have no money, no sick leave and no annual leave. tried centrelink but they are useless as my hubby earns just over the threshold. so on top of finances and my health i feel i am still not the best.

I wasn't gooing to come on here so soon but i needed to talk to someone as i am home alone. the only good thing that kept me going was knitting.

God i wish i could jusst go away, need to stop these negative thoughts.

Anyway i just wanted to say hi, i am still here and i am sorry if i have forgotten someone's name - i think my exhuastion and meds are affecting my concentration and memory.

I really don't kow how i will cope tomorrow.

i am so scared and anxious.

You were all probably hoping for me to be jumping up and down with glee - if only.

ps. another thing we are signing papers to sell our home this week; that's one good thing i suppose, just the packing is overwhelming.

Re: Life after hospital

Hi everyone

Just thought I'd say hi. I have seen my GP this morning for a regular womens check. Been for a 40 min walk down the beach and played ball with Jersey.

I so need a coffee though. Oh and yesterday I entered a competition to have a free facial and I won!!!

So 2.30pm this afternoon my face will be pampered. I cannot wait.

Seeing my psych next week, need to talk to him about a few things in reg. to new meds - ringing in my ears at night when laying down; no appetite; nauseous at times; headaches-migraines; and fatigue.

I have been feeling a bit overwhelmed and emotional the past few days especially leading up to father's day. It's so hard when my mind wanders and there is so much to think of and do. Tangled spider web is how i describe my mind.

Yikes @BlueBay

That water bill would freak me - I have lived through some bad droughts

And your husband letting all that water away - with leaking taps and toilet etc - that really stings - what a waste of water in this continent - I had a LH - Lazy Husband too - no matter how hard you yell - shout, dance up and down - even go on strike - I did that once - they have a hard time getting to fix the problem

Actually - to save my sanity I got in a handyman from time to time - but living in a semi-rural area during my early life has always made me super-conscious of water - I have some graphhic memories of what drought does in the country

It is so good that you are sorting all these things out - putting them off is stressful - and facing them is stressful -

Oh dear - I am sorry about that water bill - and dripping taps - is that not among the most annoying sounds - der-rip!!!! der-rip!!!!!

Hi @Decadian @butterfly101@Faith-and-Hope@Former-Member@utopia

I had the best facial. OMG it was so relaxing and amazing and my face feels beautiful.

Now I'm home and have to think of what to cook for dinner. I think it might be chicken and vegies and coleslaw.

Yes @Decadian hubby did call a plumber (who by the way is a friend) and he is coming on Friday.

It's amazing how quick he rings when I tell him the cost. How many months have i been telling him to get the plumber in - in one ear and out the other!!!! Bloody men.

And then last night he had the nerve to rant and rave about a bath mat left in the 'wrong spot' which i had left and he is ranting and huffing and puffing - far out, i was almost asleep but i still heard him. he prob thought i was sleeping.

Sometimes i wonder where his brains are!!!

Re: Life after hospital

@BlueBay. How brilliant that you won the facial. It's sounds extremely relaxing. Just what you needed. What most of us here need - some pampering.
I did that on Sunday. Had a beautiful long soak in the bath. Finally shaved off my winter coat (leg and underarm hair as thick as a mans). You can probably tell I'm single. Lol. Just wanted to get into the spring mood.
Did some more weeding today. Filled the green waste bin up again. But there is still at least half the garden bed to go - it runs the length of the driveway.
Anyway. Glad your day has gone so well. And another good walk today. You really are starting to look after yourself more. So glad to see that.
I hope your hubby and kids notice your relaxed and beautiful face. If not - don't worry - some men are just blind. I picture you glowing
