Moving forward

Moving forward

As Monday looms I have been trying to work out how to move forward. Today I started collecting things for my coping box (thanks @Crazy_Bug_Lady). I bought some of my fave chocolates to put in and have been gathering bits and pieces. Happy for any other suggestions as to what to put in. I think I may need one for the car too. I'm thinking I may copy some pieces of wisdom from this forum and print them up to add in.

I'm hoping that I get to write more on this thread than the struggle thread as time goes by. Please feel free to add how you are moving forward as well. 💜😊

Hi @Former-Member

I had tears reading your story. It resonated so much with me. I want and hope you can feel the enjoyment of being a mum.

And I am still crying. I am not coping too well at the moment; struggling big time without my meds (had to stop because of migraines) and not seeing my psych till Tuesday. I am having all sorts of emotions tonight.

I'll say a prayer for you tonight @Former-Member. xxxooo

Re: Moving forward

Hi @Former-Member,

I'm really happy to hear you've had some time to breathe and that your beautiful daughter is finding her feet for a bit. Sorry about the ear problem. My son used to suffer the same thing a lot. I know it's very uncomfortable and unsettling.

I've had a very difficult week. I have been doing what my mental health team call 'hospital at home'. I've been really struggling with over reacting to everything and wanting to SH to make it all stop but I called out for help. I feel very lucky that the Calvary arrived both on the forums and in real life to help get me through. I'm just coming out the other side now but I am taking it slowly. Some sedating medication has flattened me a bit so I'm not thinking so much which is what I needed. For now I'm taking it very slowly. The psychiatrist wants to change my medication. I am scared about this but realise that maybe something could be better than this. My 16yr old son is playing up while I've been unwell and taking advantage of me. My therapist is trying to contact his psychologist so they can get on the same page with this. On top of this another of my sons girlfriends who lives with us is suffering a bit bout of depression which means everyone is vulnerable at the moment. But as @Faith-and-Hope would say it's all doable, just a bit like juggling knives at times.

@Former-Member I really appreciated my phams worker today. I felt really bad this morning but she helped to break my bad cycle and I've been ok ever since. We went to Bunnings to return something and had coffee, it was better just having someone to help distract me. How has your day been?

Re: Moving forward

It sounds like you have wonderful support @Former-Member. I have never heard of Calvary before - are they a govt mental health team group? They sound wonderful. We have no such support like that where I live.

16 yrs old is a difficult age where most teens will turn it on to get their own way and take advantage. They need clear boundaries - not an easy situation when unwell. Do you find this triggers you? It's good that your son has help there to as this will make it a bit more bearable for you. I empathise as I know how hard it is.

It is good that you are getting out for coffee etc - these enjoyable distractions really make a difference I find when struggling to relax me. So important. The worst thing we can do is remain inactive at home in our distressed thoughts I have found. It certainly is like juggling knives - I have dodged many. I find it's doable one day at a time - when those thoughts race worrying about the future too much I can come undone so just focus on the now otherwise my anxiety levels will rise and I become overwhelmed thinking it's just too much. Is that how you felt this week?

Really pleased and relieved to read that you reached out and are n
