Moving forward

Moving forward

As Monday looms I have been trying to work out how to move forward. Today I started collecting things for my coping box (thanks @Crazy_Bug_Lady). I bought some of my fave chocolates to put in and have been gathering bits and pieces. Happy for any other suggestions as to what to put in. I think I may need one for the car too. I'm thinking I may copy some pieces of wisdom from this forum and print them up to add in.

I'm hoping that I get to write more on this thread than the struggle thread as time goes by. Please feel free to add how you are moving forward as well. 💜😊

Re: Moving forward

Hi @Former-Member

I am sorry to read how tough things are for you and your daughter - this can be such a touchy situation

People have made some really good comments here - and I hope that these work

I had a very difficult son - might I suggest Families Anonymous - this is for the parents of children like your daughter - it helps sort out whose problem things are - and how to help - it is peer support - and the people there are very helpful because they are going through the same things at the same time

This is a very hard situation - alas - not one you can side-step - and I do understand

Re: Moving forward

Hello dear @Decadian

Thankyou for your support. Did your son suffer a MI? My daughters moods are all over the place. The situation is quite dire. We are seeing a GP on Tuesday who will hopefully give us some hope by sorting out her medication on the right dosage. She stopped taking the others because of weight gain as she also has image issues. She needs to realise how serious her condition is. I am no expert but I think she is displaying mild symptoms of negative schizophrenia. It's in my family.

I hope all is well in your world my friend - it warms my heart to read of your close relationship with your daughter and SIL. This must make you so happy - something I can only dream of at this stage. But regardless I love life and appreciate the peaceful loving moments I experience each day ❤️😊🌹. Hugs xxx

Hi @Former-Member

You and our lovely @Kurra @Faith-and-Hope have really helped me. I can't thank you enough. I sincerely hope you are feeling better and relaxed this evening. You have so much to give and anyone would be lucky to have you in their life. I hope one day you can fully see this truth. Scars of past hurts and betrayals can take some time to heal - but heal you will. Lots of love xx

Re: Moving forward

Hi @Former-Member

I think my son did have some kind of MI - he never got a firm dx - he was seeing a psychiatrist toward the end but he had turned 16 and so privacy issues were involved and I felt angry - how could I help him when he did not talk about what was going on inside - and all I got from the clinic where he was going was that he was depressed - but it was more than depression

If you have schizophrenia in your family then there is more than a chance your dd has this - but you are right - our kids need to take responsiblity for their behaviour - and this is very hard - you know about leading the horse etc - we can tell our kids - but I think as their mothers we are not considered very bright - I thought that about my mother alas - that's the way of the world I guess -

My dd is very special - it was very hard getting her - hard for me to get pregnant, hard to stay pregnant - and I made it to 8 months with her and she had a struggle but she made it. She's a fine person and a highly qualified horticulturist - and I am proud of her.

And my SIL is a fine man - giving me all those step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren - as well as mym gd - yes - I am pretty lucky

I hope you have a peaceful night

Re: Moving forward

Dear @Former-Member Thinking of you.

Your idea to do the colouring again is great. It can be so calming. You are right; habits are important. Maybe we cant control all our thoughts or urges but I try and push new good habits in to squeeze out the old.

Re: Moving forward

Thanks @Appleblossom.

Im afraid I have a lifetime of habits to discard. I'm trying to put new ones in but it's never easy. My house is slowly getting back to normal so I hope I can find some space to be able to leave my room and do other activities. The kids have moved into their room and the excess furniture is finding new homes gradually so I can move around now and have other spaces like the dining room and lounge. It was three and a half months of having no space but my bedroom to be in.

I'm feeling a little brighter tonight thank goodness, but I know I'm still on shaky ground. Just starting slowly getting back with a few posts.

How are you travelling? What's been going on in your world?

💜😊🤗💐
