Moving forward

Moving forward

As Monday looms I have been trying to work out how to move forward. Today I started collecting things for my coping box (thanks @Crazy_Bug_Lady). I bought some of my fave chocolates to put in and have been gathering bits and pieces. Happy for any other suggestions as to what to put in. I think I may need one for the car too. I'm thinking I may copy some pieces of wisdom from this forum and print them up to add in.

I'm hoping that I get to write more on this thread than the struggle thread as time goes by. Please feel free to add how you are moving forward as well. 💜😊

Re: Moving forward

Hi @Former-Member, and everyone, here we are trying to live in the moment, doing "ONE DAY AT A TIME" Hope today is going OK, maybe getting something done, at least one project & one task a day (or part of), that's what I try to do before sunset anyway.

I like the concept F&H said 'tomorrow's another day' Two things that helped me survive those really serious SI days was to Contract Myself to first:
(1.) Call someone
(2.) Sleep on it
Its amazing how much a good sleep can help. And a new day. I recall many times being surprised how different I did feel the next day, and usually very glad I didn't act on those thoughts.

Don't know why I'm writing this. Probably just selfishly seeking company 😕 Better go do something, mail a Fathers Day card, finish these drawers. Hope you're well.
Cheers

Re: Moving forward

@Former-Member - hey

There is nothing at all selfish about seeking company - if you need company - why not ask? why not seek? - there is nothing at all wrong with that

To those who wait - believing all good things come to those who wait are deluded - perhaps nothing comes

I am glad you said that - company is here - what a gloomy dank and crappy day - company would be excellent

Re: Moving forward

Good Morning! Any interesting plans today?

Thanks @Decadian, for your kindness.how are you this morning? Do you have much pain to face getting up in the mornings? That would be hard every day. My arthritis flares up now & then & bad weeks are agony, so I feel for you, this morning its my feet, weird. Fo you use Tumerick every day? Helping me.

@Former-Member, how was your night? Baby dragon gang can't be easy there every day. Just cook them up something special every other day to show your love. Something simple works too. Use to work here. // So impressed to hear you went for a good walk yesterday. Helps us sleep better. // chat soon 🙂

Re: Moving forward

Hi @Former-Member

Thanks for your acknowledgement - life can be hard - kindness is a priceless commodity and rare - yet I find that the more it is used the more there is to give

Yes - I do have to confront pain most mornings - and I cannot hurry myself along to get through it quickly. It helps to wake earlier and have time for the pain medication to work - some days are worse than others.

And it can be bleak - I wonder what I would have thought, maybe what I would have done, had I thought of all of this 21 years ago - I thought then surely in could be cured or treated - but no.

In fact I know there are people who seek treatment after treatment - who have operations - not just one - failed spinal surgery is worse than not having the surgery - great if the operation works - but disaster if it doesn't.

But there are people who don't stop with one - and things must be pretty harsh for them

Medication is only part of the story - I am sure that mediation helps - something I try every morning

And my pain specialist told me I have so many interests and activities that I don't need to have any extra medication - I have cut back so much - it seems unfair that I have an active mind so I have to put up with more pain - grouchy thoughts about that - but I also know she is right

I'm sorry you have arthritis - I do too - so I know what a bitch that is - I used to play the guitar but I have long since stopped that - my fingers can't handle the frets -

So those weeks you have a flare-up of arthritis must be hell - I understand. And your feet feel weird - yes - I have that sometimes too - that could be arthritis. I find walking in my expensive shoes great for that - they seem to massage my feet. It always feels better after a walk - even if the rest of me feels like the end is too far away -

Tumeric is something I am not keen on - well - I have not tried it but I do not like spices much - I use herbs though - and it is time for me to start of a new season. DD helps me with the heavy work. As well as salad greens I grow thyme, sage, parsley, corriander and what ever comes in the punnets - and I also have supplements - I don't think I can write what they are here - but the pharmacy would have them

Do you have RA or OA or both? The treament is different - OA is caused by trauma to the bones - RA is an auto-immune disorder.

Fish oil is good too - you can get Krill at the pharmacy - I don't think I could eat oily fish except for salmon - in spring water - but we can try everything and use what is pleasant and helpful

I am sorry you have pain - yet as I have written a couple of times since I thought about it - it is socially more acceptable to have physical pain - but our emotional pain can be so much worse -

Thinking of you

Decadian

@Former-Member, how you going?

Re: Moving forward

I'm ok @Former-Member For some reason I'm just really tired. I guess I know my body is fighting a few things but I wish I had more energy. Life has been really busy here. The last two nights I've had S2,3&4 all laying the floor in the new room so I guess just catering for them has seen me lift my game a bit. Good to see S3 a bit more too. Not too long now before S2 and girlfriend can move out of my lounge and into their room.

How has your day been?💜😊

shout out to @utopia. Thinking of you and hoping you are picking up💜😊

Re: Moving forward

It is great thaat the kids are contributing to their living space. They are old enough. Its a win win and they gain skills for next time in their own places.

Day at a time.

Re: Moving forward

..sometimes having to be busy creates it's own energy seems .. well the opposite of lethargy re me anyway.. sometimes body needs a break.. and sometimes it just needs to get moving ..but just don't realise it.. stupid body lol

Re: Moving forward

It's been good watching them work together @Appleblossom. Kind of nice now that there older and stopped picking on each other. S3 has done most of the laying the floor and worked non stop, he's the only one not living here but he has a really generous soul. How are you today?
