My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Yes @Jynx feeling really let down. Is it not better to support people in the community before they end up in hospital or worse? Maybe this is just life.

thanks @outlander

Re: My Mosaic

thats usually the aim @Bow to help people before they get worse. some professionals arent very good at their jobs though. my pdoc basically said he wont help me unless i take pills and cancelled my appointments because i was a waste of time so i can understand how your feeling
id suggest going to someone new. someone who is better suited to you, then you can be more supported and have your ed acknowledged and have the plan written up.

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow I'm on board with the notion that our mental health system needs a serious overhaul. I suppose it's really hard when the treatment method that is effective for some people, is traumatising for others. You deserve the kind of support that helps you to feel cared for, heard, understood - we all do. And many people do find that - but sometimes it takes a lot longer than it should.

Re: My Mosaic

I’ve been to see my gp today. had a good cry in her office, something that I’ve felt the need to do since yesterday, but haven’t really had the space to do so. sometimes i just don’t have the space at home to cry without being interrupted i guess and then when its bed time i either don’t feel it or am just so exhausted. so, i cried today. my gp is lovely, genuinely cares and wants to help. she continues to be concerned about my eating, that is her main concern. I explained what happened yesterday at my psychiatrist appointment and that i can no go back there again, i think she understands and has accepted that i won’t go back. She will still call him and try and get a confirmation of diagnosis out of him so that she can write up an EDP for me- that’s what she urgently wants.

she said that she had the report from my current psychologist, who expressed her main concern is also my eating and said that that needs to be a priority. She was also concerned about me not yet really talking to anyone about the recent assault, my gp asked about this today and with everything else going on at the moment, I just couldn’t go there. After my appointment with my gp today I emailed my psychologist explaining the outcomes today and what my gp feels is best and will wait and see if my psychologist is willing to keep seeing me, as my gp feels this is best for me at the moment, but to start addressing some of the issues that I originally went to her for and leave any emerging mental health crisis to my gp and community mental health to manage and support.

So this afternoon I have made an appointment with a dietician and I still have this appointment with the other psychologist, and as long as my gp can get an ED diagnosis from the psychiatrist I seen yesterday, then I will start with her also next month. my ed still concerns me at times, my potassium is low and was suppose to be taking those tablets but couldn’t, just wasn’t in the headspace then. Been feeling extremely unwell today.

my gp will also chase up the PHN referral and said for me to also make an appointment with another psychiatrist, even though they aren’t taking new patients for appointments until May/June. So I will call and make that appointment on Monday.

I was to have a home visit tomorrow from the community mental health team, just to check in and see how I am doing, but I am going to have to cancel that as my daughter has been sick today and had to get a covid test, so we are at home isolating until we get the results- poor thing second week of school and off sick already- its just allergies, she gets them bad, but the school has their rules. Feeling frustrated by this, know it can’t be helped, but really felt the need for that check in at the moment and a phone call just isn’t the same.

i'll run along now, rain is forcast this evening, which will be nice. if ya got this far, thanks for listening to my rambling updates, appreciate you all.

Re: My Mosaic

ECT was ok @Bow

Always seem to come away from it with a headache. Slowly getting better.

Just went food shopping. Was chaotic, everybody panic buying.

Got any plans for tonight?

I always had a headache too... hope it continues to get better @Snowie
i forget, are you in Victoria?
we are just watching a movie at the moment. Will see how long my daughter last, we use to do pizza popcorn and movie night every Friday, but she has lost interest. Other than that I am really ready for bed. Desperate to feel ok and not crash.
