My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

thanks @creative_writer @Bow @amber22 not much more to say, just that I hate mh.

Re: My Mosaic

Yeah I hate mh too @Snowie it takes so much from us.

the second group that I went to this morning was in sleep. Was somewhat hopeful that they may share something new and interesting that would help my sleep. But no. We were just given a hand out on sleep hygiene and we went through that.
Im actually really tired today. It took a long time to get to sleep last night and I woke a lot. I’m feeling really frustrated about my lack of sleep.

Re: My Mosaic

I've done a group in sleep hygiene too @Bow It is ok to talk about those things but when it comes to trying to go to sleep, it feels useless.

Re: My Mosaic

Yeah it does feel useless doesn’t it @Snowie. Just like the pdoc weeks ago told me that good sleep hygiene would be the solution to my sleep issues.

It might help some people @Bow but not others.

Re: My Mosaic

Hi @Bow @Snowie.

Im really lucky I sleep pretty well and do follow some sleep hygiene. For me the most important part was setting my room temperature. I’m lucky as I have ducted aircon though.

Just so you know I am thinking of you both. I’m just very self absorbed right now. I feel like I need to be if I’m ever going to get out.

I am following along with both of you though.

Re: My Mosaic

Sleep is a tricky one @Bow & @Snowie ! As the lovely @Snowie has said, what works for everyone will be different in terms of what works.
I'm going to tag @ShiningStar, because a while ago, ShiningStar was the one to let me in on a lovely invention known as Tranquil Turtle which they found a helpful sleep aid. That encouraged me to look into something like that, because the functions of the Tranquil Turtle are very similar to what helps me with sleep disturbances or if I'm having trouble getting to sleep- soft sound, like music, an audiobook, even ocean waves and dim lighting, like fairy lights or the kinds of projections the Tranquil Turtle has. @ShiningStar, I'm not sure if you have anything else to add or suggest from your own experiences? 😊

Re: My Mosaic

Sleep just reminds me of another thing that I can't control @TideisTurning

I have tried music/waves, baths, lighting, meds, and so on. Not working.

Just listened to a doctor who said poor sleep can effect your mental and physical health.

Re: My Mosaic

Yeah @Captain24 I like a cool room. I wish I had the luxury of being able leave the AC on all night. That would be bliss. I remember when I was a youth worker and doing overnights, I always use to leave the AC on and sleep in an ice box. I do sleep with the fan on though.

@TideisTurning like @Snowie ive tried a lot of different things too. But nothing seems to help my sleep at the moment, not even meds. It’s frustrating. And I agree @Snowie its just something else that I can’t control.

Re: My Mosaic

I called community mh this arvo. Wanted to talk with my case manager. But she wasn’t in. I called back a bit later and asked if my psychologist was available, I would if seen her this morning if I wasnt in here.

she called me back a short time later. My first appointment with her I got the impression that she is not available outside of appointments, and think that impression was confirmed even more this afternoon when she said …. Like we agreed, I’d see you Wednesday fortnight at 11am. She was very cold. Not at all inviting.

just wanted to talk with someone. Touch base with someone who knew me.
